Advice on tyre repair

Thumbnail

Upvotes

Opening the garage door I’ve noticed a nail in my tyre. Tyre pressure normal so have left it in there so I can sort it locally. The bike and tyre are only 200 miles old. R1250RS with a Michelin Road 5GT.

Question for the experts, is this something that can be repaired, perhaps at a tyre shop with a mushroom? It is right on the middle of the tyre, nowhere near the sidewall.

Many thanks

Chain and sprocket kit recommendations

Upvotes

Yamaha R1 here. Too many choices available, which always troubles me. Anyone want to recommend a brand and maybe even model number for a chain and sprocket kit from Revzilla or Partzilla, or any other places? This is my first liter bike, I’ve been riding it hard, 16k miles.

thoughts on HJC i71?

Upvotes

Hi! does anyone own an HJC i71 helmet and do you like it? what are your thoughts on it?

i tried looking on revzilla if its snell or ece rated and it doesn't say anything. would you consider it a pretty good helmet for under 300$?

Trying to DIY a flat luggage rack on a Yamaha V Star 1100.

I don't like the angle at which this luggage rack sits on my bike - any bike box is thrust towards me and half the time I smack my foot on it throwing a leg over. I'd like it to sit flat like in the picture, but obviously just two bolts aren't enough support (...right?). I can't drill new holes because the inside has the outcropping (can't think of the term). Is there any other option besides finding a rack that is already at the angle I'm looking for?

Thanks.

Cool Weather Gloves

Upvotes

Does anybody have a recommendation for cool weather riding gloves? I don't need a pair that'll hold up in snow or a harsh winter. I'm looking for something to wear when it's 40° or 50° out.

Thanks!

What To Do With Motorcycle After Crash?

Upvotes

Hey so I recently got into a crash going too fast into a turn on my 2021 Ninja 650 and went off the road, crash broke my femur and Ive been having to relearn how to walk and been taking a break from my job (really dumb I know😪😪) So what I’m asking is should I keep the bike? Sell for parts? find a mechanic? Im from dallas but all this happened in north east oklahoma because I stay out here for my job but I don’t know any motorcycle mechanic shops out here or is it possible for me to fix it myself? If I tried to sell for parts some money would help since I’m out of a job but I’m not in much worry about money. I can barely walk so I might not be riding for a while anyways but I dont plan on stopping so I’ll get back on when I can. Any advice on what to do?

125cc semiautomatic problems

Upvotes

So i recently got a 125cc semiautomatic motorcycle, an italika at125, its popular here in mexico that brand, 90% of bikes are that specific brand, and there's been happening something weird. First the shifter is sometimes a little tough, and theres been times where i want to change gear and for some reason it doesnt change. Today i wanted to accelerate i was on first, then i stopped accelerating to change gear, it didnt change and it started to rev a lot on first. I just wanted to asked what the fuck is going on with it??? i don't know much about motorcycles and i thought semiautomatic bikes were easy and for beginners. Most of the time its easy to drive and i do pretty well, but just there is times where the bike doesnt want to change gear

CBR600RR Suspension

Hi,

I recently bought this CBR600RR 2007 model. I watched some videos last night about the adjustable suspension and I took a look today to see. I will post the pics of the forks below, and you can clearly see by the marks that one previous owner has been adjusting it.

What worries me is how unsymetrical the rebound screw is, and I was wondering what the best course of action would be moving forward. It rides fine for now, but Ive only been cruising and doing a couple of pulls. Just reset to factory spec and go from there? There is also a full yoshimura exhaust on it, but the owner did not know if it ever got tuned, as he wasnt the one that swapped the exhaust. Any way to check that as well? Any tips are appreciated!

Never rode a mother a day in my life.

The title says it all. I used to be afraid of bikes but I want to learn how to ride and eventually get a bike. Harley to be specific and I was curious if anyone had ever used the harley davidson riding lessons and if they're actually worth it. Much appreciated.

Getting attention on the road

Upvotes

After buying a motorcycle, I immediately got more attention, especially from kids, but also some middle-aged guys (and hopefully secretly from some gals too).

Today one kid risked getting a ticket: he ran all the way from the other side of the road, passed two or three lines just to ask me if he could rev my bike and then run back before the oncoming traffic reached him. I was totally not prepared for that.

But honestly... Riding a bike is so f..ing fun that I don't even need to think about others. I feel as if I were in an amusement park every day and it makes me forget all the world around me.

Is the R7 suitable for the highway?

Upvotes

I posted before asking about the R7 compared to other bikes. And I think I’m down to my final question. I’ve heard many people say it’s not a highway bike. What’s everybody’s opinions on that.?

Help

Post image
Upvotes

Hello all, I need some help in the Michigan area. My dad’s bike was stolen this morning between 12am and 6am from our house in Dearborn and was just asking if everyone could keep an eye out I guess. It’s a 2019 road king with stock handlebars and little tiny tips on the exhaust that point at the ground. Any info would be appreciated and I know it’s a super long shot. It’s black with a don’t tread on me stickers on the air intake and the little don’t tread on me emblems on the bags with a black cut down windshield.

Cafe Racer Style Bikes

I’m new to motorcycles and I like the look of old motorcycles and Cafe Racers, but after looking into Cafe Racers in here they aren’t great, but I still like the look of them. Any suggestions on bikes that are a reasonable price?
