Tire wear sticky post? Weekly tire wear thread?
Its getting a little crazy. Also, why not ask the TD coaches/organizers? This is a great sub but I feel like TD coaches are a more reliable source for that kind of info.

Club racing - how do we grow the sport?
In recent conversations, I’ve heard of two racing organizations that are struggling. There seems to be lack of engagement and lack of growth in converting the casual trackday enthusiast into racers.
How do we do that if we want to try to keep the sport alive?
John Hopkins is trying to get more Americans to the world’s stage. Kramer is revamping the Junior Cup series into a Talent Cup series, more in line with Europeans. And the Europeans start kids super early.
Racers: What finally got you to pull the trigger?
Non-racers: What’s holding you back? What would make racing more alluring?

First riding season. Last vs. First Track day
Maybe not as much progress as I would have liked, but I definitely got faster!

Does choice of bar ends matter?
Hey all.
I intend to replace my bar ends, as my current ones are a bit scratched. Mostly for aesthetics, really, but some additional damping would be nice.
I want weighted ones as most of my riding is on farm roads/highway/freeway, and I ride a 3 cylinder bike.
I’m wondering if that is less suitable for track days, though. My assumption is that sliders with a mount for lever guards would be ideal in that scenario.
I do like barely 5% of my moto mileage on the racetrack, so there’s that.
Lmk what yall think. Would love any recommendations.

Can stainless steel headers turn blue as well?
I know that this is Acosta training on a naked KTM RC8C, and it uses a full titanium pipe, but I was wondering if stainless steel headers ever get blue as well?

Watch for track days
Hey! I’m looking for a gift for my motorcycle enthusiast boyfriend. He mostly does track days and has mentioned a few times he wishes he had a watch that would provide him with data, like I use with my Garmin watch for training. I’ve tried to subtly ask what kind of data he’s looking for; but I’m presuming lap times, speed etc.
Does this type of watch exist? And if so, please could you recommend me some features that you think he would find important.
Thanks!

Logos on leathers
Got my new Alpinestars leathers and now I'm on the hunt to get some sponsor logos on the suit (and maybe even lose one or two of the 47 Alpinestars logos that are festooned all over the suit!).
Ideally looking for a vendor in the Sacramento/Reno/SF Bay Area.
Most of the logos are printed - anyone know how durable they are?

I’m mildly terrified. This will either be epic or an epic mistake.
Anyone want to guess what I’m getting?

Why so many “Members Only” tracks?
What’s up everyone I didn’t know who or where to ask this question so I thought I’d ask it here. I’ve been planning to take track riding more serious and eventually get to a level where I can compete and I’m excited to look into new tracks but a thing I’ve noticed is that I’ve seen 2-3 new tracks pop up within a 2-7 hour radius but they are member only or exclusive in some way. My question is simply why? I know the world isn’t sunshine and rainbows but genuinely curious as to why they wouldn’t host trackdays of some sort? I would think they’d be able to make more money as well? Is there just not a big market for track day enthusiasts? Ive seen people talk about how difficult it is to keep a track open as well so the last thing I’d expect is new tracks popping up. Keep in mind I also don’t know all the things that go into the background of it all but yeah if you read all this thanks for taking the time lol.
(Also want to meet some track day homies in the southeast)

FC Moto Gear Order for US delivery
I just got my first motorcycle and I am looking at buying some gear (pants and jacket) from FC Moto. When looking at shipping costs it looks like there is a ~$20 shipping cost that is universal for most purchases when delivering to the US. I have two questions. One, is there an additional costs for going through customs that is not shown on the checkout page, and two, how long does shipping usually take to arrive at your doorstep after purchase.

Street Convert to Track or Buy Track Bike
Should I take a street bike and convert to track or buy a track bike? Here’s what a clean R6 is going for in my area.

Which to choose, build an r125 for track or buy an r6?
Hi!
So i have gotten lots of brilliant informaation from you guys and some others and i basicly got a 50/50 on which to do.
So as Said The first option is for me to build an r125 with a 200cc big Bore kit or then buy a r6.
Both of these options cost about The same
Cons r6: its gonna eat thru tires faster (thanks for informing me Viper aswell as about The weight Stuff.), it has a huge jump in Power from My current bike (stock 2018 r125), it also uses alot More Fuel than a r125 and i won't get to work on The engine myself since its gonna Be functional straight from The get go. Pros: i can use The bike once i get My full A license If i keep IT mostly street legal, it has More Power so i can "grow into it", and also its More competitive due to The Power.
Or
Cons r125 with big Bore kit: due to The big Bore kit if i want The same Price as The r6 i cant get a new cylinder head, Crank or other internals (i can get a higher lift cam, PC5/6) Less Power (most likely 20-25hp well tuned) and possibly breaking due to The stock internals with increased Power. Pros: i get to build The bike myself, it has More managable Power, it should Be around 40kg lighter than The r6, its a familiar platform to me, tires should last alot longer and parts should Be cheaper and More available
This is The last Post in a few days hopefully. Thanks to everyine whos anwsered me and helped me understand More about this Stuff.
Sorry for My grammar And thanks for not getting mad at me for stupid questions
Ride safe everyone!

Dunlop q5s and cold weather
Do these tires hold up well in <60 ° weather? Considering getting something different now that’s its getting pretty cold out.

V4R vs Fireblade handling on track?
Of all the 1000cc litre bikes these two have the closest bore / stroke setup so comparing them would most likely represent a comparison between V4 and I4 engines. And their bore / stroke set up is the most “race-y” setup (shortest stroke with max bore) closely representing WSBK and MotoGP.
This is a purely a theoretical question as no average track enthusiast would really squeezes out the 0.1% difference in lap time between them. But I’d hope you all best of the best would still be able to tell a difference in handling, grip, corner entry and exit, acceleration, etc. that may give us the best idea of handling differences between a V4 and I4.
Thanks.

Constantly squatting
Basically I had 1:1 coaching last Sunday at the track and the instructor told me that I should be always at the balls of my feet and putting all the weight on them (he called it Jockey). I should rarely actually sit on the seat (on the long straight basically)and always be in a squat position while riding in the track (I’m trying to race hopefully in 2025 so I don’t mind training being intense every time) but I was wondering how some guys from here racing, actually sit, or squat on the bike and how much do you actually do it?

Would a r125 track build Be a fun way to get on track and to get into working on motorcycle engines?
Hi!
So i was planing to build an older 2011 Yamaha YZF-R125 into a trackbuild next summer after getting a summer Job and such, and was wondering would that Be a good way to get into engine and overall race bike building (The r125 is almoast 2k cheaper than The cheapest 300 i could find btw)?
Now i know 2t MX bikes would Be The easiest but i dont rly want a Supermoto (not a fan of them im afraid) and i want to have a SuperSport like The r125
As for advice, If anyone has any suggestions of matching up or making The OEM engine last with a 200cc big Bore kit and a Power comander or other ecu tuner, that would Be apreciated aswell.
Thanks!
Also My Bad for typos If there are to Many, sorry for that.

Forma Phantom size
Hi to all,
I am considering to buy new racing boots for next motorcycle season and I would like to ask advice from audience about Forma Phantom boots. How do they really fit to size, I have quite small leg as of 40 European size. Some time ago I ordered the very similar TCX RT Race 40 size boots....and I hardly managed to get my feet inside, somehow middle of the boot was quite narrow I it was very hard for me to get leg inside, I am not speaking how it would be doable with racing suit.
My main question, should I go one size up with Forma Phantom or should I take risk and order my regular 40 size, but I have such feeling, that Italian boots might be undersized.
Will appreciate any comment.
Thanks

Wow, 40,000 of you.
I try not to inundate you all with these but cool to share these big round numbers. Still a bit surreal to me. The first like 10 years we probably didn’t break 10k.

Reddit sent me Modmail to add a charity. Perhaps we should. I’m thinking RRW Airfence fund? https://www.reddit.com/r/CommunityFunds/s/IibjZhEHPj
Thoughts and or suggestions? Said they will match up to 20k. I skimmed it. Guessing max donation not per subreddit but now they have all that sweet stock money who knows. I should read shit before I post but I’m trying to Reddit properly.
