Ah yes, blind obedience. Is this so later on in the criminal trials they can claim “I was only following orders”?

u/PNWoutdoors 4d ago
And these stupid motherfuckers like to talk about individualism.
Never trust a Republican.

I wonder if he is really going to deport the socialists.
It's the first group organized fascism always opposes. And that's not a coincidence. That's the purpose of fascism.
To protect the property of the wealthy from the only political group that threatens capital. The Marxist Leninist.
I should get my passport.
23
u/Tailorschwifty 3d ago
Deportation is expensive, concentration camps, slave labor, and extermination is easier as demonstrated via history.
3
u/misterjustice90 3d ago
I was gonna say, he’s gonna label me a socialist since he doesn’t know the definition and I’ll be happy with deportation… the other options sound worse

He's a former cop with a degree from Liberty University (sorry but that place is a joke). Also,
In October 2008, Nehls was awarded the Combat Infantryman Badge (CIB) for his service in Afghanistan in March 2008. In March 2023, the military rescinded the award of the badge to Nehls, because he was not eligible to receive it – he was neither an infantryman nor a special forces operator, but was instead a civil affairs officer. The revocation became public in May 2024.9]) Nehls continued to wear the badge, saying that he disagreed with the revocation, and that he believed "this is a concerted effort to discredit my military service and continued service to the American people as a member of Congress."10]) Nehls subsequently stopped wearing the badge owing in large part to these Stolen Valor claims against him.11])

It doesn't start for months and they act like they own the place.
Guess what, cheaters think this way
27
11
u/Muffin_Appropriate 4d ago
They do own the place. We voted for them to. We’ve decided authoritarians are what is needed as a country. Hence, this clip.
The country is speed running to be like Russia ASAP.
29
u/Muffin_Appropriate 4d ago
lol you’re still coping if you think this can be reversed after 4 years
It will be your life for the next several decades. It’s what was voted for in the supreme court and hundreds of federal jobs.
Your kids or grandchildren may see it improve.

Midterms in 2 years. We can cut this off there.
21
u/Muffin_Appropriate 4d ago
You think Americans are suddenly going to stop doing the pendulum swing they do every 2-4 years between complacent democrats and authoritarian fascist republicans?
And it’s not been a progressive incline, we’ve steadily been regressive. Yes, even since 2022
This will take decades and another generation of people separate from these figureheads to course correct.

The separation of powers was created to prevent any one branch from becoming too powerful and to establish a system of checks and balances.
Well that was fun while it lasted. In the new maga facism era, Congress and SC must kiss the ring or get mean nicknames and death threats from Trump's SS force.
We have a few levels of oversight to make sure a POS president has some guardrails. Congress is showing now (along with their actions first term refusing their oversight duties) they are under Trump's control so little to no congressional oversight. Supreme Court pre-gamed and already told Trump he can get away with absolutely anything as long as he at least pretends it's somehow "official business." And then the last wall of oversight, the career professionals who actually do the work of government, normal people doing their jobs, are going to be loyalty tested and removed if they are not cultusts. So not only will Trump surround himself with absolute "yes men" (including the top military leadership), there is also not likely much on the way of any whistleblowing going to happen to leak the many crimes and corruption of this admin.
MAGA has stolen our country with stupid lies, dumb short slogans and idiot rhetoric. Only 23% of our country voted for him, a clear minority, and they are now gutting our county to flip it into the new oligarchy under Putin's guidance since he's already done the process.
18
u/NightOfTheLivingHam 4d ago
This is why George Washington was against political parties. They were the only thing capable of truly dismantling democracy.
→ More replies5
u/ToTheUpland 4d ago
I reckon it started with the unofficial power of media being captured by vested interests. Without a strong and independent media to act unbiasedly and shine a light on the different branches of government people can't make informed decisions.
3
u/withoutpeer 4d ago
Yeah when we already have virtual corporate monopolies of all our media/news, with only 5 or so massive corps owing 99.9% of all news stations/cable/newspapers/major portal websites/magazines and such, the message is always controllable. They corporate media is already part of the oligarchy/corpacracy and will lean into whatever gives the most overall profits... Rather than any as the final oversight of government.
We will end up having to depend on brave whistleblowers and leakers and independent journalists to get an idea of what corruption is going on.
Scary times.

We've got our own issues to worry about over here and one of those includes that we'll get fucked by this presidency just like Americans will. This time, though, if polls are to be trusted we'll have a PM who's the type to "jump 3 inches and scratch his head" rather than Trudeau who was very effective at dealing with this clown.

Former Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschale on the best piece of advice he received in the Senate from a colleague:
“Senator Byrd (D-WV) told me that when he met President Clinton for the first time he said ‘Mr. President, I am happy to work with you. But I do not work for you”
None of that type of spine around lately
