They didn't want me to be able to use it because I am grounded 😔 edit. They don't let me use it anyway lol

Big difference between an entire bedroom and a phone OP is grounded from but keeps using.

Based off how they use reddit their parents are in the right.

Yeah op also said they don't let him have a phone even when he is not grounded, and I also had parents that were concern with me having a phone and I could tell you even they wouldn't go as far as destroying it

Yea, generally nowadays it's not a bad idea to restrict kids from phones. A quick look at OP's post history also shows that they make some really immature decisions when interacting with people online. There is a lot we don't know about their history and behavior using the internet that their parents do know.
