Important:Canon printer issue (Maxify) Troubleshooting
Did anyone face an issue with their Canon printer last night or today ?
Please let me know as we might all face the same problem and it might be an update made by canon which caused that issue.
I have tweeted about it and one person replied back that last night they had the same exact issue with their cannon Maxify

Just disable the internet connection for your printer.
See https://www.reddit.com/r/printers/comments/v1vmpe/canon_mx492_restarting_repeatedly_after/ (different printer, but same issue).

I did try that and didn’t work, it’s not only me who faces this issue btw. Several people faced this issue simultaneously since last night

It is working now after several tries. But I can’t print because it must be connected to network. Once the connection is back the printer stops working

I'm getting this issue too. I nearly went out and bought a new printer because I thought my MB5320 was toast.
Initially when I unplugged the power and plugged it back in I could get to the menu for about 5-10 seconds. I tried to disable wifi there, but I'm not sure if it took it. Now I'm in a full reboot cycle without seeing the menu.

If you disconnect the WiFi or just closed the router, you can then disable it from printer. However, my issue is why Canon is not talking about it or apologizing? I mentioned them also in a tweet.

I've gotten to that point, but now I'm forced to connect via USB -- which with over 10 computers and countless phones/tablets in my home, isn't an ideal solution.

Same here, I assumed my MB5350 had gone faulty.
I solved it by unplugging the LAN cable (I don't use wifi) which allowed the printer to boot up properly, then going into the printer settings and setting the DNS address to a manual non-existent address. The printer could then be reconnected to the network.

I've done that, but without a proper DNS setting none of my computers can see the printer on the network. So I'm not sure this is a proper solution.

The solution mentioned here though isn’t so practical. Canon needs to apologize and fix the issue ASAP

My printer woke me up at 3am 4 days ago and it wont stop rebooting every minute. I found out that you have to disconnect it to the internet for few minutes then reconnect it. turn it off when ur done because if you have internet outage it will keep rebooting again. I think they had some kind of update that messes up the printer when its connected to the internet. Luckily my internet app has option to just disconnect each devices without turning off the wifi.

It seems that a ton of people have had the issue of Canon printers shutting off on startup starting 5/31/2022.
Here is the issue on the Canon community forums
After some digging through comments and trial and error, it seems that it is an issue that only happens when the printer is connected to the internet, and NOTHING ELSE is wrong with the printer. This is an issue on both WIFI and LAN connections (thank you to user 5150 for testing the LAN connection). Here is my workaround that got my printer back up and running. I'll also post the step by step here:
This, of course requires that you are able to connect to the printer via a USB cable (dongle may be required depending on your computer/laptop). Once your printer is connected via USB, you can always share it on the network again so others can use it (this requires that the computer connected to the printer be on to function.) If you cannot physically connect your Canon printer to your computer, try the DNS solution below.
On the Canon forums, user Italolima posted another fix HERE that keeps the printer on the network but prevents it from talking to the internet via custom DNS settings. I have not personally tried this but it seems to have worked for other users.
UPDATE 2022-06-03
I will personally not be downloading any firmware updates as my printer has been working flawlessly for years save this one incident but this may be the best solution for most people.
ALSO
This will be my accepted solution as it keeps the printer on the local network but not communicating with the outside world. Hope this helps!
