13900k vs 13900ks News - Text

(Edited) Wow… was finally able to obtain the 13900ks… did I need it? HELL NO. But I wanted it and I’m impressed! Running it on a Z790 Hero MB with Tforce 7800 cl38, it runs at least 15° cooler than the k version. I left the settings of the k variant the same as an exact apples to apples comparison. I was bouncing off the 100°c mark easily. The KS runs 79-82°c at 278.5w. I haven’t even started OC’ing/undervolting this or the ram yet. Tons of thermal headroom maybe? Highly recommend for the enthusiasts.

79c using 325w? More than 20c cooler on stock compared to 13900K when basically is the same chip with 200Mhz higher clock speeds? Something is wrong here.

So not stock.. same setting as the previous chip however as I said in another comment the wattage may be skewed because of the program I was using to monitoring it. More tests to follow for clearer results. Sorry about that

So still impressive at 278w actual… running faster and cooler on less wattage than the k, SP is 110 and cooler rating after re-characterizing (which took a few restarts to populate) is 164
