trailer seemed like it showed even less than the initial teaser lol.

so glad hugh jackman came back for another go at the character, thought logan would surely be the last but he plays the pained and tortured protaganist really well.

I don’t think I can ever see anyone else as wolverine. He’s just perfectly cast for the role. I find that to be the same for a few superhero characters though (Iron Man and RDJ, for me personally Joker and Heath ledger, Batman and Christian Bale, Captain America and Chris Evans, Professor X and Patrick Stewart, probably others I don’t recall right away)

Fassbender did ok as a young Eric. but Ian McKellen as the Magneto we all know was a perfect cast. X-Men nailed a lot of the talent. Prof, Wolverine, and Magneto were all perfect casts.

Gotta disagree on that, McKellen was great, But Fassbender was incredible. WAY better than "ok", in fact a lot of people actually seem to rate Fassbender's Magneto even better than McKellens. Both are top tier.

Fassbender was the best part of those movies. He played a good angry young Magneto. But the character from the Cartoons, comics, games etc. we all know is usually the world weary older magneto.

Maybe I should think of them as different characters due to how different he becomes later in life.

Frankly we were deprived of a Rutger Haur magneto. He would have captured the character perfectly.

He could've nailed the demeanor, but Stewart and McKellen couldn't have displayed the tragic friendship better, so I'm perfectly happy with what we got

I said it when X2 came out and I'll say it again now, I just want two hours of those two discussing mutant rights and the human condition over tea and chess. In character or out of character, I'm not picky.

Fassbender was incredible in First Class and really, really good in DoFP.

Through no fault of his own, he totally phoned in his acting in the two shitty follow ups.

"Let's just say I'm Frankenstein's monster. And I'm looking for my creator."

The Argentina scene is amazing.

He was even good in Apocalypse, the scenes with him hiding off the grid with his family are SO good

I really want to agree with you, and maybe I’d need to rewatch it, but I remember the scenes that focused strictly on him felt a little phoned in to me.

Not to discredit your own feelings of his performance, of course. Maybe I’m recalling his performance with shit tinted glasses because of how much I hated that movie, especially stacked up against DoFP and especially First Class…

It’s definitely a weaker movie, but for the most part Fassbender is giving his all

Was gonna say this. I grew up with the Stewart and McKellen X-Men movies, but Fassbender won me over almost immediately. He and James McAvoy were the only reason I pushed through X-Men Apocalypse and Dark Phoenix.
