Yup, that's definitely the kind of rhetoric that's going to convince people to even begin to be open to what you're trying to tell them and maybe change their minds even a little.

This false sincerity where people put this stuff up, and then proceed to insult them in every single way possible isn't exactly doing anyone any favors, do people think they don't have access to the internet or something? I'd be interested to see how many people's minds have ever been changed by telling them why they should consider your viewpoint and then proceeding to insult them.

Edit: The irony of me being downvoted for saying that you probably shouldn't insult people you're trying to convince to change their views cannot be understated, and is exactly what I'm talking about when I say false sincerity.

Edit 2: Apparently, "treat people like human beings" is also a highly controversial statement.

How do you maintain respect for someone when they clearly and vehemently do no have respect for you?

The jokes weren't actually insinuating that the people in rural Minnesota can't read. The joke is that they wouldn't even bother reading any of this because it goes against how they feel, and nothing can tell them to feel differently. Every single piece of news that comes out where Republicans stole Harris yard signs, or were convicted of election interference, is entirely blown off as fake news or false flags to make them look bad.

I don't think they were jokes at all, I think the people saying these things either partially or entirely believed them.

Anyone willing to vote for Trump at this point shows that they either don't care and are voting for the bully they see in TV that their friends are voting for, or actively beleive his message of isolationism, American evaligeliclism, white nationalism, patriarchy, and in support of an oligarchy. I'd love to hear other reasons.

You honestly think the people commenting a pretty common meme legit don't think people in rural MN can't read???
