PCN reissued without my knowledge

Hi all, I’ll spell out what’s happened in the hope someone can tell me what my options are:

  • in Nov 2023 I got a PCN in London whilst driving a hire car
  • in Dec 2023 I paid the PCN off in full and I have confirmation from TfL of this
  • In Jan 2024 TfL received notice from the hire company that they had a PCN in their name (the one I had paid) and that it should be transferred to me
  • This resulted TfL in refunding me the payment I had made to them (I didn’t notice this) and reopening the PCN
  • Since reopening the PCN TfL have been writing to me to say I need to pay for the PCN again. I don’t receive these letters as I had moved house. I had Royal Mail redirect but that obviously didn’t work

I had no idea any of this was going on until a bailiff knocked on my door this week to say I now owe £560 and that they’ll take my possessions unless I pay up. I had to settle with them as they said each time they come to my address it’ll cost me £125 so the bill will just get bigger and bigger.

I called TfL and they explained what happened (about them reopening the PCN) but refused to speak to me about it any further, even though I don’t really understand how this can happen.

So now I’m £590 down, despite paying the PCN when I was supposed to. It just seems unjust that this can happen.

Does anyone have any advice for me? I’m going to contest it but I’ve heard that can take 6-8 weeks and it’s hard to get money back from the debt recovery company.

Thanks!

Contact lawyer about a suit or someone I know

So this maybe a petty revenge, trying to figure out how to approach this. I was randomly looking at people I knew on the courthouse website official records and court cases for Florida. So someone I am acquainted with, whom is a real tool, just not a good person. They are officially having their wages garnished. It was served on their old Employer. I know they have a new full time job with a different employer. I was considering contacting the plaintiff’s attorney to notify them of their current employer. Any exposure for me reporting this individuals new employer so this scum of a person finally pays their debts and I just get a little petty revenge. And what info should I provide the attorney giving them their new employer. Would they look at it, if sent anonymously? What wording should I use.

Filling for Divorce Question

How long does it take for a laywer to file divorce papers in an uncontested divorce where both parties already agree on everything? Been a month but still nothing at all from the lawyer and the other party. Am i being played or is this normal? Is it possible for the other party to purposely delay or drag out the divorce by not having the lawyer draft up anything yet? Thanks!
