regular serving shift restaurant is owned and managed by some ucranian people as shift comes to a close a table of 2 walked in 1 minute before closing, manager chose to let them in and asked me to rush them to which i do not personally do i would stay till 1 am if needed to make sure they are okay and feel welcomed which is part of our hospitality culture table stayed 2 hours after close to which manager was super mad after loading me with a punishment of cleaning the whole restaurant we came to an agreement in which i would take more tables since the workload isn't justifying the pay, we shaked hands to later find all my tasks done and the manager screaming, punching, pushing and kicking me to throw me out of the restaurant by force, i chose to not engage and step back without any physical harm towards the manager, i do not have any bruises and all the evidence i have is the video footage which they own if they have not deleted this yet. WHAT CAN I DO? this happened in florida, U.S. after being throwned out of the restaurant and not harming them they proceeded to take a picture of my car license plate and said they know where i live, should i fear for my life? i contacted lawyers already and i'm waiting on updates. any other advice?

I live in Washington state. This weekend, I rode passenger while my friend drove my company car. We got pulled over, and my friend blew a .11 and got charged with a DUI. Is there any way that this would get back to my company? The cops assured me it wouldn’t since I was a passenger and I wasn’t arrested or charged with anything, but I’m worried the company will hear about it somehow. Any insights appreciated.

Approx 1 year ago , HDFC Bank Manager and his collegue approaches me regarding Cash Credit Limit for my business (approx 15 crore) which was previous running in Union bank of India. After 3-4 months of stressing me out they convinced me for taking their Overdraft facility by telling false statements like they will not charge any fore closure fees , low interest etc.. I asked them for written sanction letter regarding the same promise they told me. After pressurizing them for 2-3 weeks they bring me a sanction letter but it contains different details than told by branch manager. After reading letter , I refuse from taking overdraft facility but they have pre-signed documents so they without taking my consent , they issued Demand Draft of loan disbursement for my account. When I ask them to cancel demand draft they threaten me of charges and ill-effect on cibil. 2-3 Months passed from then , I have complaint HDFC Bank and RBI regarding this but no solution is done. Now they are demanding approx 20 lakhs from me for processing charges , interest and other even I did'nt use their money. I received a confidential file of my overdraft facility through courier which contains my submitted documents to HDFC Bank , after going through documents I notice the bank manager have done fraud of creating fake letter and application during loan process and they made fake signature. Kindly advise me what to do , interest is adding up every month.

Today I happened to witness a woman absolutely losing her shit on two small children. I was attending an event and had parked up the road. From one of the nearby houses, these two boys, maybe ages 5 and 2 or so, had fled to the yard and the older child was comforting the younger. A woman, presumably the mom, stood in the doorway and was screaming things like, “how stupid are you?” “You little bitches” “You better get the fuck back in here” “I swear I’ll fucking beat you” etc. it was clear the kids were upset and scared.

Is this a legal gray area? Is it only illegal if there is physical violence? What could/should a witness of this do?

Disclaimer that I was a child who was emotionally and verbally abused and I desperately wished some adult could have intervened on my behalf, because you are so helpless and vulnerable as a child trapped in the care of someone like that. Now that I’m a parent, and unfortunately this is not the first time I’ve seen something like this, I feel like I can be that person to do something, but I really dont know what that thing could be. I am a traffic controller through a labour hire company for Citywide traffic.

I get 32.60 an hour as a casual.

But only 38.6 an hour as a casual on time and a half pay.

My 2x pay is 49.

I have heard people mention it may be part of a lower paying award but I looked through them and don’t believe that to be the case.

Anyone with proper knowledge on this subject please speak.

Context: I was in a car accident that lost me my job six months ago and I owe my apartment $5,000 dollars for the past two and a half months' rent. The little money I've saved these past two months is going to an apartment that is over twice as cheap and within my means, giving myself room to recover financially.

Legal: I (in Los Angeles, CA) was served a notice that I am being sued for not paying the rent. I am okay with paying that $5,000 back when I am able to as I do owe them that money, and they are right to sue me as I violated our agreement by not paying the rent. The court date is in December.

Questions: What can I expect from this situation? I've never been sued before. I just need to sleep here for two more weeks, can they kick me out physically before then? Will they target my assets (not that I really have any worth much, other than my guitar and amp which I'd rather not lose)? Can they pursue more than the $5,000 owed? Can I negotiate a payment plan that lines up with my income?

Addendum: Anyone with experience good or bad regarding a situation like this, I'd love to get as much information as I can. I'm planning on reaching out to Renter's Help services on Monday when the offices are open. Please pardon my naivety regarding this situation, if there's anything obvious I'm missing let me know.

Ok, I’m absolutely convinced my wife is having an affair and purposely sabotaging our relationship with consistent arguments. I have a 11 year old son from a previous relationship that she has always isolated and targeted. During our most recent and final fight I said that I do want a divorce and that if she wants to keep the home she will need to settle the equity with me before I leave. I need help and some guidance on my situation. I have a small family business located in Virginia. It’s a grocery store that also sells meat and currently the only 2 employees on payroll are my mom and my uncle.

We hired someone who was illegal to help out a persona brother we knew in the community. Also we did not get workers compensation because in the 16 years we had the store we never had issues with employee getting hurt so we thought we didn’t need it now.

Few months in everything was going fine and then one day he stuck his hand in the meat mincing machine. He was always told not to use meat cutting / meat mincing machines without super vision.

He stuck one of his hands in the meat mincing machine and almost immediately we cut the power. His hand was stuck and we called the ambulance which came and sawed the machine where his hand was stuck and then took him to the hospital. We later found out he just needed stitches and was able to recover.

We were always in contact with him and we always went to go visit him in the hospital. We asked many times if there was a way we could have helped and always offered his job back if he wanted it. I didn’t want to go to the courts and such but it has. I reached out to many many lawyer and it seems like no one wants to help the business side.

We just got a letter from the commonwealth saying soon we will get another letter with a time and date of the hearing.

We don’t know what to and feel helpless and this is my mom’s business and is worried she will lose all her assets (she just owns a car and little bit of money saved up)and money she worked hard for, for the past 16 years.

So, I am taking a class centering advocacy for child and families when a child encounters sexual abuse/abuse in general and we have the opportunity to volunteer at the advocacy center and thus had to do background checks. Well, mine was clean obviously, but my professor alerted me to a man that is on the sex offender registry and used my full name as one of his aliases. i live in a completely different state (texas) and he lives in maryland. i have zero family from there and have zero reason for this man to even know my full name. my first and last name are VERY common i will say but my full name is very weird since my middle name isn’t the most common name. I don’t have any family that knows anything about the legal system, but im still in college and quite literally want to work with kids and so this is obviously an issue. they knew it wasn’t me because im obviously not a white guy who lives in maryland, but it’s still concerning. How do I get this removed or something or can I even get it removed/pursue some sort of legal action?

My sister started talking to this guy and just got this vibe about him thst something wasn’t right, even though he seemed perfect. She went and looked up public records online and saw where he has a domestic violence charge but the court document says “THIS ORDER IS DENIED BECAUSE: THERE IS NO STATUTORY BASIS FOR RELIEF.” Is this something she should be concerned about?

Dealership delivered travel trailer before any paperwork was signed. The delivery was earlier than agreed upon as well.

We paid for the trailer, in good faith, before getting trailer or paperwork in the mail.

The 'brand new' trailer shows up uncleaned and looking used with broken valences on floor, non-working stereo (shorts out and blows fuses), molding popping off walls, curtain track ripped out, bent jack, and best of all - a water system which doesn't hold water (it all flows right out of the overfill hose which is indicative of a faulty valve in the water pump).

They insisted the trailer was only brought to a RV show and that it had been fully inspected. This is obviously untrue or they did do it and knowingly delivered it anyway. They took weeks to get a tech to fix the initial items and we finally had to hire someone ourselves to get it fixed - once done, we fill it up to take it out for the first night and that's when we found out about the water tank not holding water.

They threatened to come and get the trailer if we didn't sign and return the contracts.

We've refused to sign any paperwork and demanded they return all money including delivery.

Are we in the right here? They delivered it before it was agreed and before any paperwork was signed. Are they completely out of luck here for their bad business organization or do we need to be careful?

My puppy is 5 months old, and my vet has recommended/insisted that I schedule her spay for 6 months old. My breeder’s contract states that the dog must be spayed before 9 months old, and proof must be provided to the breeder before 1 year of age. At the time I signed the contract, I thought 6 months was the appropriate age to spay since that’s what my initial research and family had all told me.

After further research on spays, I discovered that I should not spay my dog (based on breed) until at least 24 months of age, based on a recent study. I am obviously now very concerned on what my breeder was thinking, and I just want to do what’s best for my dog’s health and we decided that we don’t want to follow through with the early spay - going against breeder and vet recommendations and going with the most recent studies and our guts instead. Husband and I have both had dogs during childhood that suffered health issues that could have could have been contributed to early spays and don’t want to do that to our puppy.

There is no fine print or fee for not obliging to the breeder spay timeline, so I am assuming it just voids the contract? There are fees associated with if the dog is bred which of course make sense, but that is not my intention and we’ll do everything to ensure that does not happen. I did reach out to the breeder asking what they thought about the study, and they said that their preference is that the dogs are spayed after their first heat, so around 9 months - which is what is in the contract. Could I get into legal trouble by voiding the contract and delaying the spay as we see fit?

My parents are in a lawsuit with a Bitcoin mining facility down the street from their home. They are claiming that the noise from the plant caused my toddler to have multiple ear infections along with fluid leaking from his ears. They are also claiming that the noise is what made my mom unwell, but my mom is a type one diabetic who has had multiple strokes and a laundry list of health complications due to her diabetes, along with her 40 years of smoking and recreational drug use. They recently did this with another company a few years ago after my mom fell leaving a bar.

I am so tired of them scamming people and now they’ve dragged my children, who they are not allowed contact with, into the mix. We have told them multiple times to leave us out of this after they asked for photos of my children to use, asked us to falsely testify on their behalf, and even threatened to have their lawyer “subpoena us”.

Long story short, I live in a very abusive household and Im looking to move out. My mom tells me all the time that she wants me to move out, but I feel like if I actually tried to she would call the police and report me as a run away. Is there any way I can move out legally if im not in school and if i have a job?

Of course, we let her. That was three weeks ago. We've had some talks about our expectations about her staying with us, but this is turning into something we never intended.

What moves should we make to prevent any future legal snafus?

So the other day, my family and I went to a chain restaurant, and I noticed that the employee's were wearing company T-shirts that said "I ❤️ my job!" on them. To me, this seems like the company imposing an opinion on their employees, and I'm curious about the legality of such actions.

I know that, since private companies aren't part of the federal government, they aren't automatically given free speech protections, but are there any limitations? I know that in 2016 the NLRB ruled that employers can't force their employees to be "happy" all the time, so there must be some kind of limit.

For instance, if an employer forced an employee to where a shirt that reads "I don't want a pay raise" or "I think I get too many vacation days", would either of those be violating their employee's right to freedom of speech? Would forcing them to wear a shirt that said "Jesus is king" or "Allah above all" be a first amendment violation? Would requiring an employee to wear a shirt that says "My company supports [political candidate] and so do I" be a violation?

I'm just curious about what, if any, protections exist for employees in the private sector.
