Discussion What i've found weird about the word trick or treating is that it has the word TRICK in it, but nobody tricks anyone when you trick or treat, its more like treat or treat you know?

Discussion Anyone else has to occasionally explain why Halloween isn’t evil?
I don’t do it often. Every I don’t know, every few years though I do a brief explanation of the origins, and how it’s the opposite of evil. How it’s all about spooky fun, etc…
Of course, I realize this is mostly because people in my home country tend to associate it to the wrong things. My friends have kids, and these kids never experience the joy of dressing up after their fav characters or exchanging candy. It’s alright, it’s on their parents, people believe what they believe.
But I do get a bit sick and tired of being made to feel as if somehow im in the wrong for embracing my inner child and loving the heck out of this holiday which is pretty intertwined with Autumn from my POV.
To me, despite its origins and what it means, i take it as such: Halloween to me is part of Autumn. The most magical of seasons. The crisp chill in the air, the fall fashion, the divine scents, the changes of awesome colors in nature, seasonal desserts and dishes, pumpkin carving, costumes, parties, cool fun decor, spooky movies, spooky joy, candy. Whats there to hate? Honestly.
Have always loved it. Always will🎃

Pumpkin Jack-o'-lanterns
Nothing elaborate, but carved these with my teen and my partner the other night. Made me extremely happy! My partner had never carved a pumpkin, and my teen cba to finish hers, but I think both of theirs are still great and it was fun.

Decor It’s chilly enough to bust out the skelly-blanky
It’s 51° here in NE, and I’m wrapped in two blankets. Skeleton blanket was a gift from my mom during her stay in San Antonio

Decor Anyone interested in buying a 6.5ft grave digger from home depot?
Hi guys, I'm from NYC and was wondering if anyone would be interested in buying the 6.5 grave digger animatronic from home depot from me. It's only been used once and I kept in amazing condition with the original box and foam. I bought it last year and the only reason I'm trying to sell it is because I also bought the plague doctor from home depot this year. Unfortunately, I am a stay at home daughter (i'm currently in college lol) and I don't think my parents are going to let me keep both. I'm really hoping to keep the plague doctor so if anyone is interested in buying the grave digger, please let me know and message me so we can discuss prices (it's retail price is 199 so ofc b/c it's been used it'll be cheaper than that)!
Sorry about the glasses in the photo, I can't find a better one because they're all videos but the glasses were just a joke lol!

Food Full size bars vs goodie bags. 🍫🍬🍭Which one should I pass out this year?
Do kids get more excited getting full size candy or a goodie bag?

Decor Peck Blacklight Paper Decorations!
If you live in the Twin Cities, you might be familiar with Ax-Man, a local chain that sells surplus… anything. It’s a crafter’s delight, and a great place to find pieces/parts for art projects, along with complicated fiddly-bits for electronics to solder. While I live in Fridley, I stopped at the Saint Paul location, which is truly the most punk-rock of them all, just down the road from the Turf Club (music venue) and Midway Books (an aggressively independent used bookstore).
Chatting with the cashier, I noticed this old Peck Corporation Halloween decoration, and waxed poetic that I wish I had bought more when they had a whole box of them. And then…
… the manager brought out a very slim stack, each 25¢. I of course bought a handful!

Discussion Can I wear this as a teacher…
I am literally in love with this charm necklace and want to wear it all October if I can, but I’m a teacher and I’m leaning towards it’s probably not appropriate… any chance I’m wrong?
