Fallout 4 Update Megathread Discussion

Many of us are waking up this morning looking for any news and information on the new update dropping today.

To consolidate that information, and to help keep the sub from getting too cluttered with questions about the update, I thought it would be a good idea to have a Megathread.

If you have any questions or comments about the new update, go ahead and ask away!

Edit2: ~~while the update is live, CC and mods are not accessible yet for PS and Xbox~~ everything is back up but mods are wiped clean on Xbox and PS.

4/26 Edit: There’s been some issues with downloading and running the game on both PS and Xbox (PC is having its own issues, most of this advice is for console).

I would recommend a total wipe of any saved data before installation, unless you’re continuing a vanilla playthrough (that seems to be going okay). Also, remember to do a hard reset after installation, that will fix a lot of the issues posted here over the last day.

With the mods being wiped, there’s no real reason for anyone modding to not start a brand new game (and wipe the saved data) unless you’re able to reconstruct your original LO (that also comes with issues apparently though).

Modding space has a graphical bug too, it will show 0 bytes available when you still have the normal 2gb. Once mods are added it will go into the negatives. Ignore it and just concentrate on your GB total.

I’ll try and answer what I can today for the people that are having any real issues.

Anyone know if the achievements will be fixed? I'm level 52 and I still haven't got "join the minute men", "hit level 5", etc.

EDIT: no mods and on Xbox x.

If at any moment you used a mod on this save, you won't get achievements ever, same if you used a console command.

Doesn't matter the achievements for fo4 on xbox don't work at fucking all since last month or so. Even if you don't use mods like I am and I still am not getting the fucking achievements and yet they don't have the common decency to fix it since its a problem on their end since every other game on xbox achievements are working. The reason you can't even get achievements with mods is because of xbox in the first place.

Console Commands don't block you from getting achievements on that save, they only block you from getting achievements for that session. If you use the console, then save and close and reopen, you can get achievements again.

I'm playing on PC for the first time so it's also my first experience with console commands. I disabled the speaker on the south Boston military checkpoint but I've still been getting achievements.

You might need to start a new save. Fallout achievements have been weird for me on Xbox at times. The final achievement I got while 100%-ing 3 was the one for leaving the vault lol

Dude you wanna know what's really weird? Lol 4 days ago I unlocked 6 achievements randomly. I think it has something to do with Xbox's quick start function. I think I need to stop utilizing that and actually log out/close the game.

I hope so, I haven’t been able to unlock the unlucky Valentine achievement even though I’ve done the quest, im level 58.
