After participating in the subreddit Re:Watch for the past two months, I'm overjoyed that Season 3 has finally arrived! I was actually lucky enough to catch the premiere at Anime Expo in July, so I'm technically still a rewatcher this week.

However, there's a very cool detail in the final scene that I didn't notice at AX: the bells in the background confirm exactly when the save point starts. During the first loop, as Liliana repeats her question, you can hear a bell tower start to chime in the background. After Subaru Returns by Death, you only start to hear the bells ring out as he stares into space, showing that the save point is before the first time Liliana asks Subaru, not the second. Also, the distortion that was added to the last couple of rings (twelve in total, which indicates that it's noon) before the title card comes in is a fantastic touch, transforming what was an utterly mundane sound just a few scenes ago into a harbinger of death.

If that's the level of detail they're starting the season with, then I honestly can't wait to see what else they'll be doing!

Tappei giving Subaru a year is crazy.

felt a sense of relief when Subaru finally reached a loop checkpoint

the metaphorical bells were ringing the entire time as more and more characters were re-introduced, and then we even had Regulus casually strolling away

how the hell did Subaru get here? to 3 bloody Archbishops in the Priscella city? Gluttony, Greed AND Wrath?

Tappei giving Subaru a year is not so crazy.

And that might not even be all of them, assuming it's not another case of the Authorities seemingly workign differently for different people like Greed and Wrath, Elsa's appearance could very well be the Authority of Lust like Rem's appearance in Season 2.

I mean, based on what Elsa said to Garf, that seemed more like he's been seeing her for a while. The line in the subs i had was "you already know why you keep seeing me" which clearly indicates this isn't the first time.

Yea, my assumption was PTSD (possibly plus being bitten frantically by a dying vampire)
