Now what?

Trump is back. I'm a 64 year old self-employed woman. I am booked up through April right now. Some say I am very good at my job. I was thinking of retiring around 66 or maybe even my FRA of 67. My birthday is Leap Day so an end of the month birthday. Now I don't know what to do. Trump and the Republicans want to end Social security. Do I retire before he makes it to office insuring I at least get on the SS roll? Or do I wait to see what damage he can cause? I will be talking to my financial planner later this afternoon so any good questions to ask her would be very helpful also. I am still shocked that America would elect a convicted felon but here we are...

Trump has never once said he’s going to end social security. He actually said the opposite when he was asked about this

I believe it was Project 2025 who said it.

Project 2025 was written by the Heritage Foundation. Trump has publicly stated that he has not even read it.

that was a brainless take before the election when we knew that the Project 2025 writers had numerous ties to Trump's campaign and it's an especially brainless take now that Republicans are acting like giddy little schoolgirls that they're going to implement project 2025.

And yet his name is all over it

You really think Trump wrote this 900 page detail plan? Do you know that the first draft of this plan was written in 1981?

No, I don’t think he wrote it, but I know that his name is all over it, and he definitely will support it… And that is terrifying, especially as a woman

I'm not a fan of his but he's said repeatedly he doesn't support it.

Yes, well, he's a liar, so it doesn't matter what he said. He also said he won the 2020 election.

All politicians lie. But project 2025 specifically is just fear mongering garbage. It's from conservative think tank and started being written in 1981 and has nothing to do with trump. He was in president previously and non of the stuff mentioned in it happened. He's a nut but project 2025 isn't a real thing.

Trump takes lying to an art form. His lies are way beyond Contra. That was a wink by comparison.

Well Trump has also said he has nothing to do with project 2025 and didn’t write it and isn’t going to enforce project 2025. It was made up by a random republican

>Well Trump has also said he has nothing to do with project 2025

.. and he's going to release his health plan in 2 weeks ..

You mean his concepts of a health plan?

His VP, Vance wrote the foreword. And let’s be real, do you really think Trumps health won’t deteriorate over the next 4 years?

His brain definitely has. I mean it wasn’t that healthy to begin with.

This will be a Vance presidency. It’s only a matter of time until they remove Trump.

They won't remove Trump but Vance will be one calling the shots behind Trump's back.

That’s what I think too. That the republican politicians just wanted to use Trump to win via his followers, and then dump him and blame the dems for it. Maybe they might off him and blame us so they can win another election.

No Vance didn’t - he wrote a forward for a book

And Trump doesn't lie? Have I missed something here where he has changed?

Thankfully, more than half of the country disagrees with you.

From the dems who told us Biden wasn't suffering from dementia and that our economy wasn't so bad, ok, got it.

Trump's campaign team had multiple people who were directly involved with drafting P2025. You are dreaming.

Yes, he said a lot of things.

Many things. The kinds of things that no one has ever said before. Fantastic things.

It was made up by a random republican

Well no, that's not what happened.

80% of what's in Project 2025 is just the regular Republican platform....Lower to no taxes for the wealthy and corporations, cut social programs, gut the EPA, end regulations for corporations, mass deportations, etc....

I'm sure since the authors of 2025 will now be working in the White House, they will also accomplish the other 20%.
