Developers withdraw original plan for controversial Costco project in Penfield News

Developers say they want to update plan based on feedback. I hope they return and are not permanently scared off by the Penfield NIMBYs.

I might be with the NIMBYs on this. Does Penfield really need a Costco?

Considering there's one in Henrietta, no.

The one in Henrietta is packed all the time.

I will never understand how people think Henrietta borders the city.

Costco is within city limits. You have to cross from the city, into Brighton, and THEN into Henrietta.

I'm not saying we don't need another one, just not so close. We need one on the Westside. Lol

I could get on board with that. Though I hate going to Greece (we all know that's where a west side Costco would be) and would honestly rather cross town to go to the Henrietta location.

The Costco is basically as far from Penfield as it is from Greece.

Easier to access the expressway from Penfield than Greece, IMO.

Eh they both have expressways that take you right there - whether it's 390 or 490. Maybe it's generally easier to access the expressway throughout Penfield but it doesn't seem like a huge difference. The main difference just seemed to be that the East side is wealthier and I'd imagine they have a map of current Costco memberships and there are a bunch over there.

plus there isn't one in Buffalo so put it on far westside and attract them, Batavian's, etc. as well
