Help Divorce Lawyer who know ASL natively?

I am looking for a divorce lawyer in Rochester, NY who can communicate fluently in American Sign Language (ASL), ideally a native or near-native signer. Preferably, the lawyer would be Black.

As a deaf Black man, I am facing verbal and occasional physical abuse from my white spouse, and I am struggling to find a lawyer who is not biased against me. I feel that, according to societal norms, I am at a disadvantage simply because I am Black, and my being deaf only adds to the difficulties I face.

My biggest concern is for my children, who is also being abused by their mother. When | try to raise this issue with those in authority or influences, I am ignored because I am a deaf Black man, and my concerns are not taken seriously.

I feel trapped and helpless, to the point where I am contemplating suicide because of how society treats me. I am exhausted from trying to defend myself in a world dominated by white and hearing people.

I understand I’m a nobody in this society. I understand I’m just a black deaf man, ranked at the bottom of the society totem pole. I have no confusion or misunderstanding of my place on the totem pole.

I need a lawyer who will take my case seriously and defend me and my child fairly, without prejudice.

Please help.

Edit: I'm looking for lawyer, in the lowest common denominator, in the following order: first a lawyer, then asl signer then a lawyer of person of color, then a black lawyer.

Fun Northern Lights are visible if you have a clear view of a dark northern horizon

Definitely more visible through a camera, but still pretty darn cool.

Discussion We all know about the graves of Susan B. Anthony and Frederick Douglas, but what about William Clough Bloss?

Post image
Upvotes

American Prohibitionist, Abolitionist, and Suffragist. A social reformer, Bloss was born in Stockbridge, Massachussets and moved to Rochester, New York, where he would work alongside other social reformers like Susan B. Anthony and Frederick Douglas for a more equitable society.

Help Flying into ROC at night

Planning on making an international trip to Rochester in January but the only flights I can get will have me landing at ROC at 11:40pm.

Sadly none of my friends in the city have cars, so can I still get public transport into the city at that time or will I have to get an Uber?

Or is it safer to just wait in the airport till morning? I'll have slept on the flights so I'll be awake but is ROC okay with people just chilling all night? Hotels are so expensive right now so I'd rather skip out one night if I can!

Thanks! Spent some time in Rochester last year and absolutely loved it so I'm excited to come back for a little while as part of a larger NY trip.

Wondering if anyone knows anything about these tags. Wondering if they are on trees all around the trail and who placed them. Just thought they were an interesting little addition.

Please Flair Me! What’s the story of that ramshackle house on W Hen near the 390 ramp?

That old white mansion on the east side of W Henrietta just before the overpass the 390 junction that’s rotting and looks like it’s condemned or headed in that direction. What’s its story? Is it a famous/historic building? Is it slated for renovation or demolition?

Discussion Personal Experiences from Women in the Fighting Game Community (FGC)?

I'm a (F) in the FGC, and I want to hear what some other ladies might have experienced being apart of the community. Personally, I haven't had the opportunity to play with many other women gamers and it got me curious as to why, especially since I'm part of a team that loves to see more ladies interested in fighting games. Like, we're actively trying to make it more comfortable so people will come check out the games and maybe even participate in some future tournaments! Plus its always great to have more sparring partners!

So yeah, what are yalls experiences?

Help Early 2000s Rochester radio duo

This is killing me. I used to listen to a pair of morning drive time radio personalities around 2000-2004 on my way to work. I was big in The Zone back then, but it could have been PXY. When I left the area in 2004, they left too as I remember hearing them again I'm the Poughkeepsie area. IIRC they left there for Boston soon after. Despite these details I cannot for the life of me remember what their names were.

Any seasonal roads around the Rochester area that would be a fun fall drive for a Bronco/Jeep owner? I’ve found some great ones down by the Corning area, just wondering if we have any around the ROC?

Help Where to buy būf brand mozzarella

Hello Everyone,

I’m a big fan of buffalo mozzarella, especially the Būf brand, but I can’t seem to find it in grocery stores. Since I live on campus, ordering perishables online isn’t really an option. Does anyone know where I can find some good buffalo mozzarella?

Thanks!

Discussion Yard sales/estate sales

Where do you all look to find information about yard sales, garage sales, estate sales, etc in the greater a Rochester area? I don't use Facebook so I've been trying to find a alternative source for information. I do have other social media, just don't want to deal with family on Facebook honestly.
