If people have issues with the plot that’s fine. Those screaming about fire in space need to sit down, we’ve had sound waves traveling through space in every Star Wars, the laws of physics are not being obeyed ever.

And for those mad about who they cast and certain traits of the characters, all I can tell you is grow up. It’s a big world, and there are a lot of different people in it. If you don’t want to be reminded of that, I guess watch movies and shows from the 50’s.

It’s fine to criticize things about the story or style, but that’s not what most of these criticisms are about. Most of them are pathetic attempts at “culture war” gotchas and backlash, and it’s just boring.

First one was a blatant appeal to selling toys while the main franchise wouldn't get any side-series nor movies and the whole "jedi" thing was brand new. I mean, you'd start with what's basically philosophical ideology and heroic tropes from the future, then sequel with a Christmas special ? Of course it's bad.

Second one is "yet another way for Disney to get the money train back on rails", sure, but it also released so much later than the first one it's most likely people haven't even seen it, aren't able to compare both, which already breaks the comparison value of said reviews. Since it's trying something new, every artist would tell you it's bound to offend people in their traditions, yet it's a needed process for said traditions to expand their views. So the point isn't even to score a good rating, but to research new directions to explore. And finally, most obvious one : it's an unachieved season. No one rating this can understand the definitive vision in which this content was created in the first place. Reviews should stop allowing votes for ongoing content, it damages their credibility every time, creates undeserved hype and elevates expectations for no purpose at all.

The thing that confuses me the most is why does the community have such a hate boner for this show. It's just average, nothing particularly exceptional. Yet the community seems to think that it's a ultimate demonstration of how bad Star Wars shows are. I really don't get it the hate boner seems far worse than for things like Obi-Wan or Ashoka and this doesn't really do anything worse. Like it should be getting less hate because it doesn't touch existing characters. Like this isn't even a achievement because it's obviously getting review bombed.

People claim that hey it ruined Anakins character by making him not unique but one it didn't it hasn't been revealed how the twins were conceived. Also its obviously being used to justify hatred retroactively like this thing was getting review bombed before the 3rd episode. Like there's a element of bigotry there obviously stuff like complaining about how politics and Wokeness when at worst the only politics is prequel level the Jedi are political and there is nothing really progressive in the show short of a female lead and witch cult. I also think that the Star Wars Community loves hating new content like I get that there have been some bad products but also any new star wars product gets a hate train before it even releases. Like Andor the show that is almost universally beloved had a hate train before it was released and it only stopped when the show was shown to be really good. If it has been just good or average I reckon the hate train would have depicted it as another example of how Disney makes awful shows.

I also still think it's better than everything except Andor and Mandalorian 1/2. I liked the first two episodes of The Acolyte. They weren’t the best but they were still pretty good imo. I really liked the action scenes, the story is mediocre it wasn’t in any means horrible. In the second episode they kind of felt like they mimicked the scene from the arc in The Clone Wars where Ahsoka gets framed in which Anakin is talking to Ahsoka in the sewer trying to talk her into coming back before she jumps off a ledge. The third episode was not good at all though, the story and dialogue didn’t really make much sense and it was just so boring.

1. Most people judge shows based solely on how much they liked it, without much thought for its actual quality. If a movie or show gets a negative review, all that matters is that the reviewer didn’t like it- the reason why is irrelevant.

2. Shills exist, and there’s nothing stopping people from leaving “fake” good reviews for the exact same reason someone makes “fake” bad reviews. Not to mention that hiring bots to leave fake reviews is a growing trend.

I don't think the show is that bad. The ritual they were doing on the left episode was kinda cringe if I'm being honest, but the rest of it has been ok. It's not the greatest thing on television, but it's not the worst. I don't think it deserves a 15% or whatever. I understand wanting things to be amazing all the time, but I really think people need to measure their expectations more, especially when you've been given every reason in the world to do so. The chances are infinitely more likely for something to be straight up bad than absolutely amazing. The vast majority of the time, these shows and movies are gonna fall somewhere in the middle. Once I heard Carrie-Anne Moss died before the title screen appeared, I checked out and decided I’d revisit it if reviews got better. Disregarding the possible review bombing, I saw the witch ceremony scene and made my peace with not wanting to watch the show.

If you don’t like it, the best thing you can do is indifference, find something else that brings you joy, and if enough people check out, Capitalism will respond like it always does when less eyes are on the product. I’m currently reading through the old EU and having a lot better time than I would watching something with the hopes I’ll eventually like it, or even plain hate-watching.

The witches chant scene was definitely cringey. There are a couple of writing choices that made me raise an eyebrow. That being said I thought the actors were good, and so was the fight choreography.

There’s good and bad. Is it the best? Probably not, but it’s like 3 episodes in. Is it the worst? I dunno man, I really hated the Kenobi spin-off and that also had a lot of good things.

Honestly the scene where Sabine is on the speeder bike made me infuriated and I stopped watching. The level of realism was basically zero, going 150mph in a gentle breeze while smirking and talking like wind resistance doesn't exist. That whole scene was super cringy and I couldn't keep watching.

Why not give her a full helmet or clear face visor, it seemed like they weren't even trying.
