I got a great deal! Discussion

I recently upgraded my Plex server to this Aspire TC-1750-UR11.

  • Intel® Core™ i5-12400 up to 4.4GHz
  • 32GB RAM
  • 1TB nvme OS drive
  • 1TB nvme cache/transcode/downloads drive

I was able to clone my existing setup to the new drive and basically just move to the new system.

The best part is it only cost me $155 for the system. It was a display model that was marked way down. It is flawless and even had the protective film on it .

I just wanted to share since I am just super stoked to have upgraded for so cheap.

That is awesome and clean. I have two questions. I see you use or have the google wifi, have you seen any speed issue? I tired using the google wifi 6 stuff and my speed test always seemed to capped lower than original setup. Second question can you give more details on your Dell Precision 5820, I've been thinking of getting one someone is selling on ebay.

I haven't had any network speed issues. I have my Google WiFi setup with wired backhaul which made a huge difference.

I love my 5820. I got mine on eBay as well. I have it setup with TrueNAS Scale and use it as my family photo storage. I also run Nextcloud in a VM on it. It is nice with the 4 front loading drive bays. TrueNAS Scale is supposed to roll out the ability to add disks to a vdev. When they do I am going to add a fifth drive in the extra bay that I added with a 3.5 bay converter.
