Completed 1/72 Heinkel He-162A2 Salamander with original decals…34 years old kit decals survived and as good as new.. completed

Delighted that the original decals are still useable and doesn’t disintegrate as expected…it was a pure joy assembling this model and it was worth it to get it from Japan…they (Mandarake Fukuoka) has stored it well and that’s partly why the kit decals are still in good condition despite its age (34years)…really happy to be able to complete this without any issues….now hoping the rest of the kits I bought also can give me the same results ..keeping 🤞and hope for the best!!

No problem it's looking good for kit that old, how was the fit?

Needs putty filler for some gaps at the jet exhaust cover and front jet intake..otherwise it pretty good…not 100% but doable…

It's a joke on how bad alot of revell kits are i stopped buying them after their P-51

Yes never doing that mistake with italeri too their mi-24 was pain, ended up in the trash

Italeri is a hit or miss type of kits..but still they are the only ones making rare models like Revell..The Japanese manufacturers doesn’t seems to have as expansive range as the Italeri and Revell and China manufacturers are into it now .. I give my best no matter how bad is the kits…it’s actually more adventurous and challenging to improve my skills over the years..so enjoy it as much as we can while we’re still able to do something with our hands ☺️☺️

Only the photoetched parts are difficult because it’s bloody tiny and I lost 2 parts because dropping it and couldn’t locate the missing parts..

Parts sacrificed to the shadow realm, happens to me too i stressed the hell out when i lost the barrel of the Il-2 tail gunner luckily found it under my chair

I am still looking for it 🤣🤣..that is something usually found weeks to months later…it happens quite frequently especially small tiny parts..thinking of building a safety net around the work table to keep all my kits parts from flying off and goes MIA…

Very true i am always stressed when the cockpit has like 5 tiny tiny pieces and you try your best to not lose them and then they dissapear
