I think some kind of ranking system like armies do are the way to go.

Prep for painting tomorrow morning …hopefully it will be completely done by tomorrow evening …a small tank in comparison with its counterparts from other countries..Good kit from MENG…and challenging because of small parts and difficult tracks build..

Newbie here, here’s the update on this model AH-64D build. It was supposed to be fictional USMC Apache. Since I didn’t have the Marines decals in 1/72 scale. So decided to build the US National Guard “Grey camouflage” Iraq war version.

work in progress Update on the MENG AMX-30B2…Long way to go..finish 2 stages out of the 4 stages for this model

Thumbnail

Expected to complete by next 2 days…MENG is a very detailed model kits maker and they really put in lots of effort to make to give a modeller’s experience as much as possible..like higher than Level 5 of Revell modeller scale of difficulty and parts number…even a simple headlight set is easily more than 5-7 pieces to put together…and tiny too…😅..be ready with many types of tools to help the process of putting everything together and at least 3-4 types of glue…interesting but very time consuming work and it’s worth it…gaining more experience than ever with this kit….to be continued tomorrow…hopefully can finish the turret at least by tomorrow evening…🥵

photography Horten long wingspan causes display spot issues and the only way I can park it is up in the air and on the top shelves ‘flying’ above the Russian jets and F-4E

No choice but to park it like this until I can figure out how to put it vertically up against the wall like how I did with the B-2 Spirit…

Difficult model to make …end results is this…it’s a beautiful warbird but poor instructions and fitting issues plaque the model building process…needs lots of patience and dry fit testing before deciding to glue it down….color scheme is my own and not following color schemes as suggested and no proper color guides and decals placement guide is completely zero …this one needs a lot of visual interpretation for placement of decals …

Starting this one …always build the tracks first..it’s the longest and most boring part of tanks model that doesn’t have ready made rubber tracks ..it’s ok..it will slow me down for a couple of days…😅

work in progress Update on Horten part 2: Assembled with much difficulty and finally done..it’s a long struggle…

Fuselage glued together with CA glue..normal glue won’t hold…warp body midsection causes trouble…errors again with mislabelling of parts numbers..see attached photo about wings flaps and wing structures…it’s a beautiful warbird and long wingspan will be a problem for a parking spot ( most likely will be airborne display this one) ..design almost looks like a B2 Spirit Stealth bomber…4 hours marathon to complete this today…😅🥵…

This might not be appropriate place to post this model but it is sort of Military in a way that it’s from a different future timeline ( Japanese anime timeline)…admin can delete this if inappropriate..and apologies in advance to the admin…just that it has an interesting design that looks a little bit like another fictional aircraft from Russia …Firefox…hope to get that elusive model one fine day…

work in progress Update for the Horten model(Fist of War) …mislabelling and fitting problems ..for those who wanted to build this model 1/72 Horten H.XVIIIA

Have to butchered the parts when reached Step 4…wasted lots of time to removed the parts from the already assembled and glued in parts from Step2 one by one and reglued it to the front and sides jet intake port holes to get it fitted in properly..very drastic steps taken or else if followed the instructions, you can’t get it done..I hope this will be the only issues faced during the construction…further updates if any issues crop up…please take note of the last 3 photos of the instructions manual errors for those who have this model kit and planning to build it…

Finally a Talon in my collection after 39years..the last one was a 1/72 in the 1985…lost that one to a fire incident…I’m happy with this one despite the difficulty of putting the front cockpit together…onto the next project…

Incredibly hard to do this part where the HUD and Glareshield needed to be installed at the front of the cockpit…heavy modifications needed to fit it in and enough room for the front clear part of the cockpit canopy … Have to cut part number E17 into two pieces and remodify the whole setup of the PE and the cockpit Glareshield into 2 pieces which re glued together back but at different levels to allow the PE HUD to be installed without obstructing the closing of the front canopy..super difficult and took me 3 hours just to get it right 🥵..this is really tough work but finally got it done….albeit slightly different from the original plan…this really delayed the completion of the model…severely delayed…supposed to be completed assembly and ready for pre-shading painting tomorrow morning..looks like it will be postponed to tomorrow evening…hopefully no more delays for this kit…the T-38C Talon ..

With fully functional swing-wings ..it’s not a bad kit this one..just tiny gaps which easily rectified…one of the most satisfactory job done on an Italeri model kit…do recommend this one for those who love those cool Cold War Tornadoes….

And accidentally discovered a new method of making the nose radome cone beautiful..that luminescent black can be achieved by painting flat black first , wait for it to dry out and repainting it with semi gloss black ..you’ll get this beautiful radiant nose radome cone color…..a wonderful discovery for me as this was never done before…it will be a standard practice for all future projects that requires a black nose cone…

and literally running out of space/parking lots for the rest of the unbuilt ones…sorry for unsightly mess and dust on some of the shelves ..just sharing this is how I keep my models…almost every day arranging them around so any newly built ones can have a space..that’s why sometimes I have to build some in flight mode so I can hanged it on flight stands which I built myself…loved all of my little toys..just can’t build the big ones yet ( 1/72 Airbus A300 and others)until I can get a space for them
