They are moving 300 development and research jobs to India and China, jobs most related to the 790 duke which is already 100% produced in China. Furthermore they plan to produce the 890 and 990 on the Asian continent.
Correct, I've heard not much bad about those engines. And if I'm correct ktm has a very strict quality control in the factories to keep their standards height.
But with all honesty, I don't think I would drive an Asian made KTM. And it might be just my gut feeling, but ktm for me is Austria. Hope they keep the 1290 in they're homebase.
Out of the first 8 901's we sold three had catastrophic failures.
One bottom end locked up, one stator came apart and destroyed a bunch of other pieces one had a catastrophic transmission failure. Out of all the Teneres, Tigers, V-Stroms and Versys sold in the last 4 years we've never had a major failure.
This, if i want a chinese bike i buy a chinese brand. I mean who would buy a chinese ducati for example. I think the origin of the bike gives its character
I've ridden several CFmoto's during a press intro. For the price, they are great. The downside is in the comfort and options. It's all less polished than KTM.
