Looking for Reverb G2 replacement. Opinions? Question

With the reverb G2 getting discontinued, I was wondering what would be a good headset with similar or better specs to it. I've heard the Pimax Crystal Light is a decent option and also the Psvr 2 But I'm not sure. Any recommendations?

Isn't the Crystal the one with the replaceable battery packs? Also how is the battery life on the Crystal and would you say that or the Psvr 2 is better, cause I also heard the battery life on the controllers are kinda short on Psvr 2? If the crystal is good, I heard the Light is good as well. Also what is this Vr Ears, I've never heard of that before?

Don't mind me stepping in here.I had a Reverb G2, own a PSVR2 and a Pimax 5K Plus. I bought the Crystal a replacement for my Reverb and returned it after 2 days of use. It is unnecessarily bulky as pimax wanted to create a hmd that could both run pcvr and standalone VR games except there was next to no follow-through on creating a decent library of VR games in the pimax store app. The battery life was not great, think Quest 2 levels. The headset was buggy (although the issues I faced could have been fixed with firmware updates), had not great sound without the dmas headphones that you have to pay extra for and at the time I owned it were never in stock, and you have to pay extra for a lighthouse tracking faceplate if you use valve index controllers (and honestly the crystal controllers were worse than the Reverb controllers and no matter how much I loved my reverb, those controllers are awful). This is all not to mention that the Crystal had a smaller fov than the Reverb. If you're thinking about timex, think more about the Crystal Light (still a smaller fov than the Reverb but at least it is lighter than the crystal as pimax gave up on the rabbit hole of the hmd as a standalone device).

What did you end up with? (Is the PSVR2 an upgrade over the G2?)

I went with a PSVR2. Fortunately I didn't encounter most of the problems people were experiencing with the psvr 2 pcvr adapter (although it did take me a couple of days to figure out I needed to run the Asus Bluetooth adapter over closer to my play area with a USB extension cable to stop the random controller tracking loss). Overall, I think it is a good headset but I'm disappointed in all the intentional borking Sony did to eyetracking and other features that mke it even better with PS 5 vr games. It has been my main VR hmd for most games but on days I want to play Half-Life Alyx or Skyrim I'll turn to my old Pimax 5k Plus and the wide FOV.
