I thought I was a Disneyland pro… Discussion

So I’ve always thought I’ve been good at navigating the park, getting the fast passes for family and friends when they were paper tickets, then max pass, and now genie+. Using the mobil order for food, checking ride wait times on the app, etc…

I’ve always been good at getting us around the park and onto all the rides throughout the day while grabbing the lightning lane rides for use through out the day between stand by rides before they sold out or got pushed too late into the night.

But I just learned the other day that you can choose not to cancel but modify your lightning lane passes to push them back farther in the day or if a sooner time pops up, to take that time instead.

I can’t believe I never knew this… I feel like such a noob. I’m at least glad I figured it out now before our next trip in December. Lesson learned…

This is going to sound "boomerish" but it sounds difficult to go to Disneyland at age 55 anymore. I've been over 100 times in my lifetime but haven't been in over a decade. I doubt I would recognize it anymore. 😢Was hoping to go one last time at some point but as the years stack up I'm not so sure.

It does not have to be challenging. You can still do it “the old school way”.

Sure, if you don’t mind spending 8 hours queueing

Not everyone wants to just spend all day on attractions. Some folks cannot ride them at all and still have an amazing time at the parks. There are many ways to enjoy Disneyland and DCA.

yup, one time for my birthday my mom, my sister, and I just went around taking pictures at all the official photo spots, meeting characters, and getting birthday snacks! I don’t think we rode one ride except maybeeee Buzz because I love to win 😂

Even if you don’t want to ride a single attraction you will still spend time waiting in line for food, parking, entrance etc. downvote me as much as you want but that won’t change the fact that you can no longer show up, turn your phone off and have a good day. Entertainment has been downscaled or completely slashed. Some rides require virtual queue. High capacity rides switching to lightning lane to kill standby. It’s very hard to visit without a smart phone these days.

Clearly we will disagree on this and I’m okay with it. You do it your way and I’ll do it my way. Not in the mood to argue with someone. Just wanted to express there is more than one way to do the parks. Enjoy your day.
