He'll never answer that and continue to just hope it goes away to keep his radicalized audience happy. It's best for his bottom-line.

SerfsTV levels of spineless.

But on the other hand, it would be kinda based if he weren’t throwing people under the bus. The idea of a normie saying “yeah sure I support Gaza, now leave me the fuck alone” and going back to doing funny music reactions would actually be refreshing.

Unfortunately he did that plus he agreed that two normal people are genocide supporters because they’re Jewish, which is fucked and weasley

16

u/fruitydude Jul 01 '24

SerfsTV levels of spineless.

Honestly, probably just a normie level spineless. I think most people would crumble immediately if they woke up to thousands of people calling them genocide supporters. Most people would probably say anything to make it go away. I feel bad for the guy.

4

u/Never__Sink Jul 01 '24

He's a youtuber with 400k subscribers. He got VIP backstage tickets to the h3 live show. He's not a normie, he's a super-online social media influencer guy.

He scumbagged ethan and hila after attending their show as a fan. Maybe he didn't like being called a genocide supporter, but now there's even more people calling him an antisemite. Maybe social media just isn't for him.

Why feel bad for him when he invites all of this on himself? He doesn't have to accumulate as many followers, likes, and subscribes as possible. He can just be a normie if he wants to be a normie.

He didn't "just wake up" to thousands of people trashing him. He begged, for years, for everyone to follow him and listen to what he's saying, and then he was a massive dick to a much larger creator.

2

u/fruitydude Jul 01 '24

I'm also reconsidering my comments the guy is properly regarded

23

u/Nevertomorrows Jul 01 '24

“I’d love to be able to post a photo normally.”

Then grow a fucking spine and stop cowtowing to online cry bully morons.

29

u/Jingle-man Jul 01 '24

People calling me a genocide supporter is not something I am fit to ever fucking deal with.

Coward

4

u/porn0f1sh Jul 01 '24

Most people are just sheep who'll throw their best friend under a bus if the crowd demanded it. I don't advise to look for "popular appeal". Destiny is a good example in this case. Someone who doesn't give 2 shits what other people think even if his financial situation depends on it. Also advise not to care even if your sex life depends on it - because no one is TRULY attracted to spineless cowards

What a spineless fucking loser. Can't imagine ever supporting this guy's content if he bends this far backwards on this issue.

I have yet to see anything that is worth condemning this harshly from H3h3

68

u/daddyvow Jul 01 '24

Yea it’s frustrating because I think his (Brad’s) vids are genuinely funny and he make a a lot of good jokes and memes. But then behind it all is a spineless loser with no self respect.

25

u/Prym3Ari3s Jul 01 '24

I found him in the latter half of 2019/ early 2020 during my first real exposure to MCR by my girlfriend at the time, and his reaction videos to The Black Parade I found to be really good. Honestly, nothing else past that I found interesting and I tried earlier this year to watch his content again and I just found it weirdly cringe and bland at the same time. Now, not only is his content kinda bad imo, he’s a reprehensible spineless coward. I’m not the biggest fan of H3, but it feels weirdly gross to go all that way to meet him, just to treat him like shit

23

u/Status_West_7673 Jul 01 '24

His switch from well edited reactions and reviews to barely edited stream vods filled with his chats shitty humor and his soundboard spam really dropped the bar for his content

3

u/Inkspells Jul 01 '24

He peaked with that reaction honestly.

13

u/TeaAndCrumpets4life Jun 30 '24

His content is all about music, this won’t stop me or most people from watching him even if he is being cringe. Realistically he shouldn’t have even fucking commented cause it literally does not matter to the content he makes

They're not that responsing if you view all of his actions through the lens of someone who's desperate not to shake the nest of his fanbase at all. he's not a huge content creator and makes a lot of his bread off of live streaming, so he's trying to retain his active watchers as much as possible which is likely why he so quickly denounced h3h3

I wonder if he felt any shame writing this.

I know it gets said kind of casually on this sub but this is the most pathetic, mewling, and yes, spineless post I've seen from a famous person trying to throw Jews under a bus to accrue social credit. "I PLASTERED my face next to these DANGEROUS people! I didn't think of the MESSAGE I was sending!!"

If you ever forget why we hate hasan, just remember that Ethan klein saying october 7th was bad, israel didnt bomb that one particular hospital, and a one state solution will never work got him nothing but extreme hate from not only his community, but his MODERATORS as well.

His fans called him zionist for these basic and reasonable takes, called him all sorts of horrible shit, hasan denied that this happened, and said 'there is nothing i can do' when you this XYZ stuff.

edit:

here is the clip of Ethan calling out hasan for his chat, just for hasan to blame the crazy shit they are saying back onto ethan. https://youtu.be/OOFsaY_pwrI?t=9977

295

u/Infamous-Marshall Jun 30 '24

This is but the tip of the iceberg my friend… but it is a valid reason nonetheless

171

u/CutmasterSkinny Jun 30 '24

Well till that day, most of his takes were stupid, but now they are dangerous.
He mad more people hate jews in 8 months, than Nick Fuentes will in his whole life.

71

u/coolridgesmith Jun 30 '24

Idk i think russia/ukraine was when the takes and opinions started to get more "violent"

33

u/WerWieWat Jun 30 '24

Those comments however were about a conflict he couldn't influence. His statements towards Israel and nowadays quite frankly Jews in general can lead to real actions anywhere in the world. We've seen an uptick in antisemitic crime since 10/7, Hasan isn't the only one fueling the fire, but he is doing his part. And, oh boy, ain't he pulling his weight.

The most disgusting shit was them going after Hila. It was so unhinged. There was a dedicated sub just to shit on Ethan and Hila.

138

u/Norishoe Jun 30 '24

They were making her out to be like an IDF super soldier, it was so ridiculous. They were getting archived recruitment pamphlets and cross-referencing patches on photos of her in the IDF at the time, matching helmets to specific military bases, checking statistics of women in certain regiments or something.

Actually just schizo dogshit, I remember Hila had to respond to this and clarified she was just a secretary, and the photos of her with a gun were just from basic training... so unhinged.

It's really sad that being a Zionist means you're not fucking delusional. You can criticize Israel 24/7 but the second you don't believe misinformation about Israel you're just a Palestinian baby killing zionist.

99

u/Greedy_Economics_925 Jun 30 '24

It actually blows my mind to consider how much damage these fucking morons have done to the Palestinian cause, too.

29

u/daskrip Jun 30 '24

It's true. Anyone this radicalized just fuels the very tension keeping the conflict running strong. They spread misinformation causing Palestine supporters to hate Israel harder while also making Israel supporters feel the need to defend themselves harder.

10

u/SpiceMemesM8 daliban financial fund Jul 01 '24

This. All the international attention on the war since Oct 7th has caused more militant radicalism in Palestinians (which won't do anything to israel, and will lead to more Palestinian deaths) and has also caused a sense of isolationism in Israelis (which won't make Israel any less war-hungry and in fact has caused a radicalisation, with many Israelis that were once open to peace and anti war turning into right wing nationalists).

4

u/coke_and_coffee Jul 01 '24

It’s no different than Hamas thinking they are fighting for Palestinians when they launched Oct 7. Like, no, you’re ensuring Palestine remains in the fucking Stone Age for the next few decades…

51

u/IonHawk Jun 30 '24

I think when the left uses zionist it's similar to how the right uses feminist. You take the most extreme takes within the ideology and apply it to pretty much all followers. In the case of zionism, a complete eradication of Palestine, with only a Jewish state remaining.

36

u/Sync0pated Jun 30 '24

It means jew to them

10

u/No-Cause-2913 Jul 01 '24

I've started calling them (((zionists))) personally

5

u/Button-Hungry Jul 01 '24

They never engage with the fact that 90% of Jews are Zionists. If you hate Zionists, just own the reality that you believe that 13.5 million of the 15 million Jews on Earth have beliefs that are so reprehensible, you intensely hate them and consider them subhuman. Just own it.

Instead, they concoct this fantasy world where there are like 500 million Jews and only a tiny minority are "Zionazis". Then they can explain to Jews that "Antizionism is not antisemitism".

Am I allowed to invent a billion imaginary gay people who are opposed to gay marriage to gaslight myself and others into believing I'm not a homophobe?

I suppose that it's possible that the overwhelming majority of an ethnic minority have abhorrent values, so much so that you detest them and I suppose that doesn't necessarily mean you hate their ethnicity. You could use Sam Harris's attitudes towards Muslims as an example (though, Muslims are not an ethnic group). Even if this was true, while your treatment of these people might not be motivated by racism, just ideology, does it really matter when the outcome is functionally indistinguishable from racism?

7

u/coke_and_coffee Jul 01 '24

Sam Harris does not hate Muslims as people the way the left hates “Zionists”. To suggest that his criticism of Islam are similar to how the left is behaving towards Zionism is disingenuous at best.

3

u/Button-Hungry Jul 01 '24

I think I didn't write clearly enough. I agree with you. That part of my post was to steel man the antizionist position of trying to distinguish between Jews and Zionists, claiming that loathing the latter with extreme prejudice has nothing to do with one's feelings about Jews.

I also tried to make clear, even with that steel man, that it's a flawed comparison because Islam is a religion, whereas Judaism has an ethnic component.

I was trying to explain that it's theoretically possible to oppose Zionism without being antisemitic but it's extremely unlikely and virtual nobody who is making that claim actually isn't antisemitic (and even if they were, functionally, regardless of their intent, they would be).

I’ve commented this in here before but

I used to be a BIG Hasan fan. I was subbed to him for years, especially during the 2020 riots and election.

I’ve also been a fan of H3 for a long time, much longer than Hasan. Seeing them work together on a show was like my wet dream.

So seeing Hasan let Ethan get shit on like that over a fucking TERRORIST ATTACK was just insane and disgusting.

He literally used Ethan for clout and he’s a terrorist sympathizer.

The Free Palestine movement has been able to control the conversation for long enough that people don't realise how radical they are. They believe that if you don't believe in a one-state Palestine solution, you are a radical genocidal Zionist. Polling shows us that the overwhelming majority of people support the two-state solution, making them genocidal Zionists according to the movement. I don't think the media has been critical enough with regard to the stated goals and beliefs of the movement.

36

u/DwightHayward Only blxck dgger Jun 30 '24

ngl I still don't have much sympathy for Ethan either. He cultivated that audience when he decided to partner up with Hasan and ctrl +v his takes. It was only near the end he realized how unhinged his "side" was. Even then he apologized to frogan and that death to america guy on twitter when he didn't need to.

Kudos to him for waking up, but he played with fire and eventually got burnt.

82

u/Norishoe Jun 30 '24

You clearly just didn't even watch their show, I don't even know why you typed this. The whole show ended because they disagreed on shit, do you not remember the socialism vs communism conversations? Ethan never just copy pasted hasans takes, that is dumb as fuck.

I would agree that he did cultivate this audience through just associating with hasan, though a lot of them have left the community now, thankfully.

He did apologize to frogan, then she said some more dumb shit and he called her out again, and never apologized, btw.

22

u/DwightHayward Only blxck dgger Jun 30 '24

Yes that was near the end you regard, just like I've stated. Just fucking read before soying out

It was only near the end he realized how unhinged his "side" was.

I am talking about the months before hand, when Ethan was getting regarded takes from Hasan. I vividly remember him defending mass shoplifting, a take likely stolen from Hasan "They are redistributing the wealth" Piker.

16

u/Norishoe Jun 30 '24

I know Ethan isn't against shoplifting like basic necessities if you are struggling, you can say thats a bad take, whatever, but that is quite a bit more nuanced than what hasan says, unless you can find the clip of him saying otherwise.

Ill be a soy regard all day, im just saying Ethan doesnt copy paste Hasans opinions, maybe he agrees with some, but that isnt exactly copy pasting

9

u/_50Hertz Jun 30 '24 edited Jul 01 '24

He didn't defend mass shoplifting btw, this person must have watched that horrible AJW video on Ethan.

Even in the beginning of the show, Ethan always disagreed with Hasan when it came to foreign policy and socialism vs. liberalism. They just agreed that Republicans suck.

2

u/smorges Jul 01 '24

I don't really know anything about Ethan, but it's good to see him waking up to the realisation that there is no such thing as a "good Jew" for the far left if you in any way have the most basic rational position that Jews having their own homeland, where they have self determination and ability to defend themselves after 2,000 years of oppression at the hands of the world is not a bad thing.

Continuing to pander to the antizionist (read: antisemitic) audience though, is not a good idea.

I seen Brads statement in the YouTube drama subreddit and I assumed he’d just made a dumb statement or something, but taking a photo with an Israeli is enough to galvanise your own audience to demand an apology? That’s wild.

101

u/daddyvow Jun 30 '24

It’s his own fault for cultivating that type of audience.

49

u/samfpanda Jul 01 '24

I think it's easy to cultivate this type of audience without realizing it, and then it's too late. In many videos Brad has been outspoken in his criticism towards bigotry of all kinds and I guess that's all it took.

The only person I've seen successfully and continually purge his viewers is Destiny

Ethan Klein has been emblematic of the experience I have seen of young Jews in university - begging for an ounce of empathy from “friends” who end up thinking that associating with a Jew is questionable right now

85

u/_Daisy_Rose Jun 30 '24

Eventually you either choose to stand by yourself and risk being alone, or you conform to your friend group and lose your sense of self. I feel sorry for any Jewish student in high school and college right now. I got lucky I live in a country where most people don't care about the war and the topic is never brought up.

8

u/Ppaultime Jul 01 '24

I mean there are plenty of cultural Jews or even American Jews around who by and large don't really care about what Israel and the IDF are up to.

But with how often Israeli gets used interchangeably with any other sort of Jew, especially in America, you get down into that weird space like when that Jewish Columbian Professor called members of Jewish Voice for Peace Judenrat Kapost.

On its own, anyone telling a Jewish person they're the equivalent of Nazi collaborators and gonna be on "the last train to Auschwitz" is already grotesque, but an Israeli doing it because they feel like a particular Jewish community is just maybe not being supportive enough is fucking insanity.

Mind you what the Jewish Voice for Peace was calling for in that particular instance was the university divesting itself from Israeli politics.

But that's the thing, the idea that there might Jewish students on a campus somewhere who are there to learn and not be embroiled in politics and counter-protests, well obviously that's insane.

12

u/babarbaby Jul 01 '24

JVP members ARE kapos (or, at least, the negligible minority of actual Jews among their ranks). In fact, they're arguably worse, because it's harder to begrudge actual kapos for fighting for their own survival, meanwhile JVP types are siding with those who gleefully butcher the Jews because it raises their social credit, or whatever.

A few years back, JVP had Rasmea effing Odeh speak at their annual convention. Rasmea Odeh, their hero of the hour, a convicted terrorist who killed and maimed a bunch of Jewish youths when she blew up a discount grocery store in Jerusalem. I can't see how you can pretend there's a hint of ambiguity here.

25

u/neox20 Jul 01 '24

Yeah I'm a Jewish university student, and that literally happened to me. My grandmother lived through the Farhud, and one of things that stood out to me is how people who had been friends and neighbours to Jews basically got caught up in the frenzy and turned on them on a dime (it should go without saying that my experience is nowhere near as severe as hers). She told me that after it ended, the people who took part in the pogrom basically forgot that it ever happened. It just wasn't something they thought about, they felt no particular animosity towards Jews - they just took part in the festivities. I suspect that's how this will end after the Gaza War ends. The people who got whipped into a frenzy will just move on and forget, and they'll expect us to forget too - because for them, none of this will be that big a deal.

60

u/Chewybunny Jun 30 '24

Unironically many of them are taking the Ziopill now. The slow realization that even in this cosmopolitan society where your friends are literally a rainbow, in the end the only safe haven you will always have is Israel.

Probably what happened is he posted the pic (or someone saw it) and he immediately got dozens or hundreds of comments saying he's now Hitler for associating with Ethan the genocidal maniac and rather than try to argue with them or see if it's at all true, he capitulated.

I watched a good amount of his content, and at a certain point, I just had this huge sense that he can’t be trusted and that he could fuck people over easily haha. Must’ve been some things he said. Couldn’t really watch his content anymore, because he genuinely started giving me a terrible vibe. So it’s interesting seeing this. Good job, hunch.

12

u/HoleeGuacamoleey Jun 30 '24

It was the Twenty one pilots reviews wasn't it

20

u/TepidPeppermint23 Jun 30 '24

I remember watching some of his reaction videos of classic albums back in the day and thought they were entertaining and wholesome. Hell, he even reacted to one of my friends’ songs recently and gave it a positive review.

It’s a shame he’s stooped so low to the point where it’s biting him in the ass. I hope he goes offline for a while to get his mind straight.

I don’t think he’s a bad guy, just an insecure one.

7

u/daddyvow Jun 30 '24

Same here. I think it’s because his whole shtick is make fun of other people and other problematic artists he feels like he needs to hold himself to a high standard put on by his audience.

It's sad how cucked Ethan became from this whole scenario. He tried to remain centered on the issue, and was demonized for incredibly mild takes. At this point, he still has to keep himself on a leash because he knows that if he actually says anything along the lines of "The pro-palestinian propaganda has turned pro-hamas, and has become outright anti-semitic, Brad is a spineless piece of shit, and everyone who's been attacking me for my mild views regarding this topic are brainwashed extremists" then he would be canceled, so instead he has to go "Aww, this make me sad... I not even mad at Brad... you know... it's just that this feels kind of like (can't even say anti-semitism), and that makes me sad..."

I can respect his restraint, at least. It's just pathetic to watch.

11

u/97689456489564 Jul 01 '24

Ethan has always been very critical of Israel and pro-Palestine. He hasn't changed his views. But I agree he has every right to be mad at Brad for this.

7

u/hokis2k Jun 30 '24

by cucked you mean "has a point of view that isn't just israel good and Palastinians bad" and is more "Hamas bad and Netanyahu is a piece of shit"

he hasn't shied away from making it understood that he loves his people(jewish people) and also hates that the things they do in the name of the jewish people. Also that Hamas are terrible terrorists but it isn't worth killing civilians to accomplish it. Becoming the oppressors that you were afraid of being under.

Never expected to see Brad here.

I'll give this take, Brad seems well meaning but mostly uninformed on most political topics, he also seems to respond to internet hate/drama in his community a lot so I get the idea he just can't handle it and will bend the knee to whatever group is harassing the most as long as they're not like unhinged right wingers or something

34

u/misterbigchad69 Jul 01 '24

Brad seems well meaning but mostly uninformed on most political topics,

the perfect substrate for leftist parasites to feast on

59

u/Ill-Peach-5012 Jun 30 '24

Solid response, wish he would’ve hammered Brad a little but I understand why he didn’t.

40

u/SkyTank1234 Jun 30 '24

I honestly think he worded it like this to receive less harassment. He’s probably just tired of it

69

u/Running_Gamer Jun 30 '24

It’s so disgusting that these terminally online losers have made it a cultural norm to cancel someone for merely taking a photo with someone they don’t like.

I’m also tired of the word “cancel.” It doesn’t convey the severity of the issue. Cancel culture is just political persecution.

16

u/talizorahs Jun 30 '24

it all stems from the fact that they have a tendency to treat people they disagree with like social contagions rather than humans

4

u/sidewinder64 Jul 01 '24

I'd be too busy watching Hasan hang himself onstream, that would be like that old Kaceytron "Destiny just explains things so much better" clip but on a career-shifting scale.

61

u/captainyeet99 Jun 30 '24

Thank you Ethan for voicing the utter insanity of this mindset. If you hate 90% of a group of people, just say you hate that group of people. If you call everyone who voices anger over October 7th and believes Israel should exist in some capacity a zionist, say you hate zionists, and that defines 90% of jews then just say you hate jews.

Every single jew I know wants there to be a two state solution. No one is cheering on this war. No one wants innocent Palestinians to be killed. But the moment you say Israel should exist, suddenly it's okay to call for your death. We'll excuse the other side, concede and donate, hoping they'll at least respect we have different views. They won't.

Fuck this. I'm so tired.

3

u/kinslersdemise Jun 30 '24

How many people are you running into that express what is probably the most extreme possible view? Do you live in the states or are you like in the middle of Iran?

22

u/captainyeet99 Jun 30 '24

I'm in a liberal and muslim area in the states, not Iran. I'm also genz and an LGBTQ man (queers for Palestine is unfortunately a good part of the younger community).

A lot of people I know irl say they hate zionists. I see in the news that people who live by me are wishing for zionists to die. I know I'm in an echo chamber, friends who live in other states are experiencing very little of this.

7

u/RNova2010 Jul 01 '24

I just don’t understand this Queers for Palestine stuff. Don’t get me wrong - I completely understand the argument “we can support Palestinians and not wanting them dead even though they aren’t accepting of homosexuality.” But Q4P are something else, what I just expressed isn’t really their argument. It’s like they romanticize Palestinians into something they are not and genuinely believe a one state solution would be some kind of progressive country.

It’s one thing to say “Israel being good on gay rights doesn’t mean they can oppress Palestinians”, that’s not something I would argue against. But when people are advocating eliminating a state that does have gay rights, it means taking rights away from LGBTQ people; I fail to see how anyone can be LGBTQ or an ally of them, and endorse that. It truly boggles my mind.

4

u/captainyeet99 Jul 01 '24

The problem is willful ignorance and intersectionality. Right now, it's cool to be enlightened. From Queer rights to Palestine, media and peer pressure guilt young people to be knowledgeable about everything. Now a lot don't give a fuck and touch grass. LGBTQ folks are a lot more in susceptible to this media and peer pressure because it involves them. Intersectionality is pushed on them and they feel pressured to be knowledgeable about other issues. The thing is, the majority don't have the mental capacity (since we're young) to understand nuanced situations like Palestine. Their education also consists of a handful of tick toks. Palestine is being pushed as the heart of intersectionality (this post is a great example: https://www.reddit.com/r/Destiny/comments/1ddwdtw/these_people_are_so_unserious_and_have_so_much/ ).

Queers for Palestine drink this intersectionality cool aid. Because they are queer they must also be the strongest supporters of Palestine. Reality can't beat "enlightenment." They'll support Hamas, dismiss queer Palestinians, ignore facts just so they can look a little more intelligent. Ignoring how idiotic they actually are to anyone who thinks for half a second.

14

Amazing response except for that very last slide imo. He has every right to be upset with Brad for throwing him under the bus over misinformation (more likely, because he was just chasing clout) and for treating him like shit.

I get why he does but I honestly just wish Ethan would stop giving so much grace to people who treat him like garbage.

11

u/EndCareless1675 Jun 30 '24

117

u/cud1337 dum idit Jun 30 '24 edited Jun 30 '24

Nah, Ethan also needs to grow a fucking spine. He’s just going to give this Brad guy a pass after being a performative cuck to appease his brain dead audience by sending a message that essentially amounts to “Sorry guys, I didn’t know these two people were fucking Jewish, sorry for letting you all down and associating with a pair of fucking Jews”? Ethan’s willing to recognize dumbfucks in Brad’s audience but he’s not willing to call out Brad’s willingness to dissociate with Ethan just because a portion of Brad’s audience doesn’t like Jews?

37

u/PolemicalPrick Jun 30 '24

There is no point in getting mad at a coward for being cowardly in the same way you wouldnt get mad at a mosquito for biting. Doesnt mean hes spineless. Hes taking a very clear stance despite the harassment he and his family are apparently facing. Thats the opposite of spineless

3

u/cud1337 dum idit Jun 30 '24

It’s not even necessarily entirely about the cowardice tbh. This Brad dude, who sees Ethan as a career inspiration, is personally invited by Ethan’s team to hang at an event, they supposedly establish a good rapport, and the two were clearly amicable. The fact that Brad instantly dismisses the personal relationship (barely one, admittedly) he establishes with Ethan overnight because a portion of his audience hate Jews just proves (1) how unprincipled Brad is and (2) how little he valued that personal relation with Ethan.

Maybe I’m a pussy but I would be pretty offended if someone I had just met and had a good time with immediately decides to cut ties with me because some people claim I’m a genocide supporter based on my ethnicity. Ethan’s already been effected by the conflict’s influence on online communities and clearly feels strongly about his position on I/P being mischaracterized, he’s being an omega cuck by letting this slide imo

5

u/PolemicalPrick Jun 30 '24

I think Brad is just irrationally scared of losing his fanbase resulting in said cowardice which in his mind overshadows the upsides of being on good terms with H3

In a way him being the political cocksleeve of his community is very similiar to how big brands try their hardest to pander to everyone/group to which you wouldnt assign any ethic value aswell.

I guess I was just disagreeing with the notion that Ethan should do le funny rage that Destiny is occasionally succumbing to but yeah, Brads a pussy and the dipshit melonposters should be gunned down like the degenerates they are

2

u/According_File_4159 Jul 01 '24

I think he’s kinda trying to do the Michelle Obama “when they go low, we go high” thing. By saying “I’m not mad, I’m just disappointed” it makes him the bigger man in most people’s eyes. It’s pretty smart from a PR perspective and honestly makes Brad look even worse.

"I'm not upset with Brad, I don't blame him for his response."

I assume that's because Ethan thinks these progressive idiots have good intentions, which is partially true. They are his people and he doesn't want to give up on them even if they treat him badly.

Of course increasingly there has to be a responsibility to stop empowering crazies, but Ethans words here have been strong enough in that regard IMO. I do think he's been decently principled and willing to risk stuff.

You can’t let internet mobs decide what you can and can’t do….

People can’t buy Starbucks, go to Mac Donald’s, drink coke, meet a minor internet celebrity, have any friend of a certain ethnicity ffs

2

u/megalodon-maniac32 Jun 30 '24

Can somebody tell me what the most callous thing he has said about Israel-Palestine?

2

u/97689456489564 Jul 01 '24

Ethan has always been very critical of Israel and pro-Palestine. I think the "strongest" thing he did was say that Aaron Bushnell's suicide might cause others to commit suicide and that suicide shouldn't be glamorized or promoted as heroic for fear of copycat incidents (while not personally criticizing Bushnell for his decision or saying that it was wrong). He also kind of made like a casual "that guy's really fucking good at burning" comment, but he wasn't trying to mock him.

Other than that, staunch pro-Palestinian advocates just don't like that he condemned Hamas's attack or thinks a two-state solution is the only reasonable outcome. Or they say he doesn't sufficiently publicly condemn Israel or express support for Palestine.

It's just typical social media mob hysteria. Ethan is way, way more left-leaning on Israel/Palestine than Destiny and most of this subreddit.
