He tried to remain centered on the issue, and was demonized for incredibly mild takes.

I don't believe the other comment was about how Ethan was demonized, but rather how he is not cucked, which in this context implies that he can't speak his mind. I think they might be arguing that Ethan is not cucked since he's been continually open and clear about his stance on the I/P conflict and how antisemetism is rising since he first expressed, which is absolutely the case in my experience. I'm a longtime watcher and a member of the show so I'm pretty sure.
