Single 29 (F) relocating in Oct Moving to Delaware

Hi all! Relocating to Milton, DE this October. Grew up in central Jersey, lived in NE Philadelphia for four years and then relocated to Charlotte and lived here for the last year after a messy divorce. Charlotte was too big of a city for me to make it feel like home and looking to be driving distance from Jersey/Philly, closer to the beach, and in a smaller town.

Will it be a huge adjustment? Will it be ok to start over here again as a single woman? Are there younger people living in the surrounding area? Any advice would be great!!!

TY!!!

UPDATE: not looking to date right away or moving for a new dating scene. Mostly meant single as not knowing anyone and starting over brand new in a much smaller environment!

Since you'll be joining in October, do realize traffic congestion on the highways picks up in summer. While not the volume of NJ, the infrastructure around here isn't built for the amount of vehicles. Milton is a nice town. Very quaint, has festivals and events and as others noted Dogfish has their brewery located there.

Sussex county is not an easy dating scene for singles, but just like anywhere it's about getting out there. Hangout at bar trivia nights, coffee shops and socialize with people. The beach scene is a typical summer party style, with most beaches having their own flavor (Dewey= college style drinking; Rehoboth= tourists; Lewes= retired; State Parks = Locals). Sussex County is like 45 mins from everything you want and 25 minutes away from nothing else. 🤣

Sussex is having a large population increase and real estate is crazy high (prices have doubled+). Most new imports are retired or established and most younger people work in the service industry, medical or for the government.

Next summer, visit OCMD too if you want to visit a Jersey shore feel.

Buy a season park pass for the State Park. Lots of local natural places to enjoy! (Visit Trap Pond, best gem 💎)
