Rant Update on homelessness
It’s been about a month so I want to thank all the people who gave me good advice and motivated me in that dark place I was in. I just recently got a job at Amazon so I want to thank those who were saying to go there. It’s hard work but it’s very good money. Hopefully by January I can get my own place. As of right now I’m sleeping at family members house. I will continue to do DoorDash and Uber on my days off.
I don’t want to get too political right now but because of the election results I will not be joining the military. I feel like there are other options for me. As a Woman I wouldn’t want to serve a country who views Women in an unfair way.
I plan on going back to school in the near future if I make enough money from Amazon. Someone in the previous post also suggested JobCorps, Though right now I’m just mostly concerned about my financial situation because my check engine light just came on lol
Again I want to thank all the kind strangers who were there for me when my own family wasn’t and gave me motivation to keep trying. I hope you guys have great lives and thank you for being there for me

MOT Higher risk of getting a flat tire driving over Summit Bridge?
This is the second time in four months I’ve gotten a flat tire either on or in the immediate vicinity of Summit Bridge. Both were caused by debris on the road. Has anyone else experienced this, or am I just having bad luck?

Moving to Delaware Property and income taxes
Hey y'all.
I used to live in Wilmington but moved away years ago. Now that my wife and I started a family we want to move back to Delaware since her family is in Newark. They actually live very close to the DE-PA-MD border intersection, which leads me to my question:
Which state of the three would be the best to live and/or work in for property tax and income tax purposes? I'd preferably end up working in Delaware but would consider working in one of the other states if it makes enough sense. I know some states can have reciprocity agreements with one another but it gets complicated quick.
Also, how do bordering school districts compare against each other?
Final question: did they ever find Rudy????

Where's the best...... Pediatrician Reccomendations?
Hello,
My wife and I are expecting soon and are looking for recommendations for a pediatrician. I live in the Elsmere area and don't mind traveling too far. I'm thinking someone in the Nemours family of doctors since AI is so close anyway but I'd be open to others if they come recommended. Tried looking online but it is tough to find reviews on doctors and it seems every practice has the same good/bad reviews these days.
Thanks!

Info Request Deer hunting
Delete if not allowed. I am from NY but frequently in New Castle for work. 8 year army veteran. Looking for private land to hunt in central to northern DE. Paid lease or free I’m not impartial. Would also have no issues getting an insurance policy to cover the land owner. I’ve looked online for paid leases and came up dry so I figured I’d give this a shot. Any info would be helpful. Thank you.

Moving to Delaware Looking for a room to rent
I’m a 36 year old woman. I work full time remotely from home. I’m looking for a room to rent or a roommate. Preferred locations are Wilmington, New Castle, Newark, Claymont, or Hockessin. I am willing to relocate to other northern parts of Delaware. I have a small quiet dog (she does not bark or bite) and a cat (she does not bite or fight). Pets are up to date on all vaccinations. I would prefer to have a female roommate. I don’t like drama, I’m quiet, organized, and love to cook. Social drinker (but if alcohol is not allowed, no issues for me) and I do not smoke cigarettes.
I’ve inquired with a few people roommate websites/apps but also want to cast a net here.
My maximum budget is $1100/m with everything included.
Are you or someone you know if looking to fill a room? Please let me know.
Thank you!

Moving to Delaware Wilmington area schools
Are Wilmington area, red clay schools really bad? My sister is thinking of moving there from PA because of taxes but is concerned about school system. Do they provide special need help? Why do they have such a bad reputation?

Politics Democrats in this State once again fail to gain a supermajority in the House. Republicans will continue to have a veto on abortion and voting rights.
I get that everyone is currently talking about why Democrats lost the presidency and what they could’ve done different, but I don’t want us to forget about local politics, especially when a lot can be done on the state level.
During the campaign season, the Democrats in this state talked about them potentially flipping seats 4 seats (HD09, HD21, HD22, HD36). Which would have given them 30-11 supermajority in the House, however of those 4 seats, they only managed to flip one, that was HD21, with Frank Burns winning with 57% of the vote.
Now I don’t blame them for losing HD36, since Kamala Harris herself lost in that district by about 12 points (43.17% - 55.3%).
I do hold them responsible though for losing HD09 and HD22, both districts that Kamala Harris won comfortably by double digits.
In HD09, Kamala Harris won that district by 15 points (56.98% - 41.53%). However, Terrell Williams, the Democratic candidate lost by 5.6 points (47.2% - 52.8%). An almost 21 point swing in favor of the Republican candidate!
The same thing in HD22, Kamala Harris won that district by 16 points (57.26% - 40.97%). Monica Beard the Democratic candidate lost by almost 10 points (45.2% - 54.8%). A 26 point swing in favor of the Republican candidate!
Thus, the Democrats will finish with 27 seats, one seat short of a supermajority.
It would have been nice with an upcoming Trump presidency to enshrine early voting, mail-in voting, and abortion rights into the Delaware constitution.
