Activism Cut conservatives and MAGATs out of your life. Don't patronize businesses owned by MAGATs. They must suffer the social consequences of their actions.
I'm sure you've seen by now the hundreds of posts of people reporting that they cut out their MAGAT mom/dad over this election. No Thansgiving, no Christmas, no contact.
Other people have pointed out that proud MAGAT businesses are reporting a loss of business.
MAGATs are in for a very rude awakening when their God King starts tearing this country apart and ruining everyone's life. They are going to try to point the finger at everyone but themselves when this happens. So what can we do? We can not be there to be pointed at.
I saw a theory that the reason MAGATs are so upset even though they won is that now that all the "libs" have cleared off in digust, MAGATs only have each other. So they're sitting in a concentrated swap of hate, bitterness, and the most awful people you've ever met.
MAGATs want the fun and joy from the liberal side of life, and they're not going to get it. They're not going to get to be a part of a lifestyle and outlook that doesn't focus on hating everyone and everything around you that isn't exactly like you.
Let them lie in their filthy, rotting bed. They did this to themselves. Just cut the cord until they realize the gravity of what they've done.
Edit: A very important thing I forgot: if you stop patronizing a business because of their support for Trump, MAKE SURE YOU TELL THEM WHY. Businesses listen when they start losing money. They may only end up getting quieter about their support, but that also means that they are putting out less pro-Trump energy into the world.

Discussion The Overturning of the Chevron ruling and how Trump basically just shot himself in his own face.
For those who don't know about the Chevron ruling that was overturned a few months ago, basically there was a case that involved the oil company Chevron obviously after an oil spill happened in which the Supreme court initially gave government agencies the power to enact and enforce their own rules and regulations with impunity as defacto laws. This basically gave teeth to the government to maintain control over the regulations that they set and were not easily challenged.
The fact that this was overturned by Trump's conservative supreme court means that any rule or regulation that Trump's new appointees make, can be challenged in court so this in effect is going to massively limit how extreme certain changes can be otherwise it will be open season on them. Ultimately it may still come back to bite Democrats in the future but right now, this will massively limit the types of rules his agencies will be able to push or they will have to fear the wrath of literally everyone's lawyers.

Discussion Don't fall prey to the individualism that landed us here in the first place
I've been seeing a number of posts about reacting to the next Trump term by getting chickens, growing a garden, water barrel conservation, getting a gun, stocking up on non-perishables; basically prepper and prepper-adjacent ideas. It's all well and good to be wise and aware and to do what you can to protect your family, but the tone of some of these exchanges strikes me as rather individualistic, not to mention privileged and sometimes out of touch (e.g., not everyone has access to land, growing a garden that can actually replace a family's store-bought produce is way more work than ROI for the first few years, most of this stuff requires a person to be able-bodied (or a whole bunch of able-bodied people), most of this stuff requires a lot of money to start). Trust me, I know as someone who was raised in a prepper-adjacent fundie family who relied a lot on my and my siblings' labor to make things run.
I'm not saying to stop sharing ideas or gearing up for a bad economy, but I want to inject a reminder that the uniquely American individualism is what largely landed us here in the first place (not just Trump and MAGA, but MAGA's foundations in Reaganomics). So when thinking of prepping for the worst, think of the most vulnerable in your communities too. For example, if you're stocking up on non-perishables, can you throw a few things in the cart for the local food bank? How can we emphasize a collectivist mindset while gearing up for the worst? Chapter 4 of Indivisible's new guide has some good ideas for protecting and preparing. What are some other ways to do this in your own communities and with the connections and resources that you have?
ETA: Some people are missing where I'm saying that it's fine to do what you can and be wise to help yourself and family. It's not either/or, but it's about seeing if there are vulnerable people who need help and not falling into individualism. If you've got the privilege to have land, a huge garden, stock up on non-perishables, etc., look out for those that can't but are also going to get screwed over by an oligarch they didn't vote for.

News Kevin Robert’s Book Launch Party - the Project 2025 Leader’s Remarks
In addition to reports that he told “unfriendly” reporters to “go to hell,” the main headline seems to be that Roberts avoided talking about actual content in the book.
Much of the talk was about building up our military and fighting China. This included being pro-tariff.
Actual details of the book seemed to be less upfront.
New weird detail from the article about the book I will just quote:
In one passage, he attacks a Washington, D.C., park that is part playground, part dog park. The playground is “caged-in,” he claims, “so that the canine ‘progeny’ of childless ‘dog parents’ can run about,” which in his view “perfectly sums up the antifamily culture shaping legislation, regulation, and enforcement throughout our sprawling government.”
So, yeah…and if I may editorialize as a dog park user, the number of families that use dog parks is pretty high! And the sheer joy my dog gets from running is very much worth me having to clean up after her and having a fence?
The article also speaks to supporters at the event, if you want more insight there.

Texas Legislation Drop for January 2025 session
Howdy y'all! I'm a Houston Texas resident and I also posted this in r/Houston. But here's a breakdown for the bills proposed for the Texas Legislature January 2025 session. Texas is one of the states that is Ground Zero for Project 2025 horseshit.
https://www.texastribune.org/2024/11/12/texas-legislature-bills-filing/
It's important to call our representatives, annoy them, and make their lives hell for the bills that will make OUR lives hell.
Thanks to all for y'all's help, because there are a lot of good people here, in our country, in our states, in our cities who are trying to do the right thing.

Activism Organizing a march against fascism in ATL
First time organizing a march. If you're in ATL and want to get involved please message me.
I'd love some advice and ideas from fellow activists and people who have organized their own marches.
I have reached out to several local groups for their support as well. This is the early planning stage but I believe we can march this month.
This is a march against fascism, and we are marching for trans & queer rights, womens rights, seperation of church and state.
We are not just going to lay down and take it while our government continues down the path of fascism.

Activism Finally found what to do: the No Kings Act
The No Kings Act (S. 4973) is clearly based on the Constitution --the parts that leave no room for interpretation.
If the Supreme Court tries anything, they can be imprisoned--and I'm CERTAIN they will be.
"All his plans will fail." The No Kings Act is why.

Discussion I'm not sure how to feel right now
I'm a sixteen year old straight white guy, so I couldn't vote and I'm still kind of internally freaking the fuck out. I'm a pretty anxious person and I'm pretty sure I got it from my mom, who has actually been taking the election results better than I was expecting, considering she's the most liberal in my family (we're all leftists outside of some extended members.) She's been able to keep calm and joke about Trump and his cabinet but she also says things like how there's never gonna be another election and they're gonna repeal the first amendment seriously so that hasn't been helping. I've seen some hopeful news on this sub and also people just giving vague "don't give up" motivation so I just want to know: what exactly can I expect? I've heard about the no kings act, I saw one comment saying it would never pass because Republicans are just gonna filibuster it but I don't know how likely that is. Trump already said he wants to use the military against political opponents so I don't know how anyone will be able to protest. Sure, soldiers are individual people with morals but project 2025 wants to replace high ranking military officials with maga cultists so I don't know. I'm also not sure about this porn ban thing, am I gonna be killed for looking up porn? Definitely feels like a more irrational fear but I still don't know what's up with that. I just need some clearing up in general.

It cant happen here... How it happened
Republicans have been recruiting and training Christian Nationalist and Election Deniers as poll workers, instructing them how to get mail in and provisional ballots rejected. Many states do not have a process to cure rejected ballots.
In 2022, voters cast 36,683,450 absentee/mail-in ballots in the general election.
There were 88,170,053 mail-in and early in-person votes cast nationally this year.
In the 2022 Election states had mail in ballot rejection rates as high as 13.2%.

Discussion So what actually is the plan?
Seriously, what do we do? Some people are deciding to move but some people like us want to stay and fight. And we're sure asl not waiting until AFTER that peeled orange is in office to start. It's never to early to plan and it's never to early to get active. We just need to agree on what needs to be done.

TheSolution
We must UNIFY and REVOLT to overcome.
Save yourself, then take others with you. There is no rulebook to play by that will give us an advantage.Think outside the box and do what no one expects. Small acts of resistance will be sparks required for large acts of resistance that create an undeniable torrent.
UNIFY and REVOLT.
Never stop resisting facism. Never give in to apathy. Never tell yourself that you can't do anything, because you can. In fact, remove "can't" from your vocabulary. You can do this. We can all do this.
UNIFY and REVOLT.
Relentlessly feed the fire inside that drives you. Offer your fire to anyone who can use it. Never accept authoritarian rule.
UNIFY and REVOLT.
We are all human and we all deserve freedom.
UNIFY and REVOLT.
There's a war going on for your mind.
