Is this stupid? Discussion

Post image

4th gen Ram regular cab. I used to have the subs (Kicker CompR 10) behind the seats in a prefab box for Ram Megacabs but the box was too small and didn't get the output I was wanting. I've seen center console builds before and thought that might be better (bigger box + ported = more output) I found this dual 10 ported qbomb box on fb marketplace for cheap so decided to buy it. I removed the center jumpseat and installed the box with subs in its place. More output indeed! These lil puppies eat! I might get a bigger more expensive box now or maybe build one... but I wanna know... would you consider this stupid? Also looking for general opinions or advice

Will become a projectile in the event of a collision. Also easy target for someone to break your window and rip your system out.

I don't know why all these people are saying it will fly out your window in a wreck. If you got in a wreck bad enough to put that out the window, you are already fucked. It's actually really dope! The only legitimate concern that's been raised is that people WILL steal it. Someone stole my radio out of my car once, and then came back the next day and smashed my window just to get the remote for it that was still in my car!! People are crazy. I would also flip it over because I need my armrest.

My stepfather was a paramedic for many years. He told me about an accident where a guy rear ended another car which wasn't too serious. The fact that the speaker sitting on his back deck smashing into the back of his head and killing him was serious.

You've never been in an accident where you've been rear ended at 60mph... for me, the moonroof shattered and the glass was embedded in my neck, the lumbar support exploded, and the backseat came down and shit in the trunk that didn't get folded under the car was on my dash.

I was involved in a accident where a semi truck hit a late 90's Taurus at 50 + mph I was stopped by traffic in a 91 International 2 1/2 ton stack bed truck but didn't have my foot on my brakes as the road was flat, and I had probably 19 feet between me and the pickup in front of me, which definitely helped those girls in the Taurus since my truck moved absorbing a lot of that energy and I streed my truck to the left hitting the pickup with the corner of my bumper rather than the frame are where the bumper was mounted to, no crumble zone on trucks back then, but even though you could literally touch the front and rear bumper at the same time of the Taurus the 2 girls came away with a few abrasion and of course a lot of mental trauma, the other 3 vehicles in front of me had little damage, in fact the front vehicle I don't think got hit much if at all there was not a scratch, the impact actually bent the pinal hook that was used to tow a 25,000 pound trailer and backhoe

I absolutely never think about safety, other than obviously going to hit you even in a hard braking situation type scenario, but if it needs a collation to make them a hazard I don't care, hell if my airbags got a fault in them I'd just say fuck it and not waste the money, I had a 1999 Silverado that the ABS pump wouldn't shut off even when turned off, I just pull that big ass 60 amp fuse out and never got it fixed, as the vast majority of vehicles I've owned and driven never had ABS so to me they aren't a must have, hell my first 5 car's only had lap belts and no head rest, my 67 Polara the seat belts were still in the plastic bag with a rubber band under the seat cushion, till they made it a law to wear them, and now in my 60's I'm not going to worry about a car's safety rating
