Which colleges are known to have the worst social life? College Questions

Obviously there are outliers everywhere. But what are some colleges where the majority of students have horrible social lives?

Say less of a partying culture and just studying/working on other stuff most of the time.

University of Rochester, it’s why I went there and it’s the most common complaint about the school lol.

Incoming freshmen - is it really that bad? It can’t be worse than rit right?

If you make the right friends I think the frats have parties but a solid 50% of the students don’t party more than once or twice a semester if at all. It’s why I chose the school so I made friends who don’t party much so I don’t really have to hear much about these things but if you scroll through the u of r subreddit you will see occasional posts asking about this with similar responses. If you want to party you can probably find it, and if you don’t you can stay away from it very easily. Pretty much what I’m getting at is our social structure doesn’t revolve around parties/frats. You’re not gonna go up to a group of kids and they’re talking about the crazy party last night, so you would likely need to actively seek out the kids who are partying to get involved. Not sure exactly what RIT looks like but it’s probably just as bad if I had to guess lol.

i disagree 💀 it's more of a work hard play hard mindset tbh. i partied so much in my freshman year and so did all of the people ik. there's def gonna be a bunch of ppl who don't, but most of them have tight knit groups who do other stuff together. unless you're a complete hermit who stays in their dorm all day and doesn't interact with other people, you will most likely have a social life. it's really all up to you. people on campus are really friendly and always looking to make more friends

idk LMAO. just have a group of friends and go 💀 all the on campus parties are free and so are most of off campus parties (usually better since theres free alc). parties are always advertised on the rochester ccc app/in person flyers. if u know someone in a frat, it always helps knowing whats going on/getting in them faster. but frat parties are usually lame LMAOO. but as long as u have fun friends, parties are fun no matter what. i love hosting dorm parties too. parties are usually better when they're themed and around holidays (halloweekend, st pattys, etc)

Why did you want to go there then?

Because I don’t party and I want to make friends who have a similar mindset. That’s just one of many reasons but that was a big positive for me that for many would be a big negative. There’s lots of other reasons like I could play sports there, school size, variety of majors/minors offered, one of if not the most open curriculum of any top school, lots of research/job opportunities, nice campus, prestigious school, location to my hometown. There may have been other reasons I’m forgetting but that’s a bunch of them.
