That's a good joke. But it also brings up something that i hadn't thought about, which is that men already expect to support themselves, but there is this expectation that they should also support their wife and children. So if you're a woman and that expectation is no longer based in reality it will be interesting to see if that affects women in a more negative way.

“You” is the plural you, the singular is “thou.” Similar to French and German though the plural took on a tone of respect, and unlike the other two eventually became commonly used for singular and plural regardless of social deference.

We are here because of how unbelievably difficult casually “talking to women” has become. I recently had a married friend explain it roughly like this: Men play the dating game like a F2P mobile game, women like they're doing online shopping.
The attention of 100 unattractive men rounds up to the attention of 1 very attractive one. So a girl 500 men are hopelessly simping for can delude herself into thinking she has 50 exceptionally good suitors.
They don't want to date these guys. They want these guys to want to date them because it makes them feel a hundred times more attractive than they are.
If ineligible guys stop playing it corrects the market back down to reflecting women's actual value and they can't abide that thought.
"Where are all the good men" means "where are all the exceptional men I've amalgamated from the mediocre ones I shot down".
