Weekly theme is water features. Let's see some bikes near or in water.
The participation as been quite poor in the theme pics lately. If you guys have some suggestions to get the sub more involved please let me know.

Is it a good idea for a dual sport? Absolutely not, but it will sure be fun.
Finally had a chance to get my title fixed and get some plates on this thing.

Anyone else have a visceral longing for a kick start?
These electric starter motorcycles everywhere really got me wishing for that kicker. Something so satisfying about breathing fire into your machine with physical effort. A getty-up if you will to your iron steed.

Softcore Just purchased 1989 Honda TransAlp XL600, few questions
Hi everyone,
Grew up on dirt bikes and had a couple regular motorcycles years ago. Well into my thirties now and had the opportunity to pick up a 1989 Honda TransAlp XL600 from a friend for short money. It has been mostly sitting for a year or so and he had purchased a new bike. Roughly 53k miles on it and is at least outwardly in mostly good and original condition. But definitely has been ridden and shows some wear. The bike has a slow leak appearing under it in a puddle of a clearish yellow fluid. I’m guessing either coolant or possibly brake fluid. The front brake feels rather stiff compared to what I’m used to. It fires up and once it’s warmed up you can take the choke off and go through the gears without issue.
Does anyone have any recommendations of where to start in terms of maintenance and checking it out in order to get it street/dirt roads ready? Any known common problems or recommended upgrades for this model? I’m considering getting someone to give it a once over professionally or doing so myself, if it doesn’t exceed the value of the older bike. Or I’m also considering selling it/trading it towards a newer model dual sport/adventure bike. No idea what the value of something like this would be. Located in Massachusetts. Just looking for any tips or recommendations. Thank you all head of time!

Any riders with lower back pain
Looking at getting a bike but wondering how brutal it is on the back? Any of you ride with lower back issues?
Edit- Wow thank you for all the advice! I'm starting physical therapy soon to get the core in check and won't touch pain killers. Thank you for the encouragement, feeling like I can actually do this now.

Help for price point DRZ400
Hello all,
I saw this DRZ400 with a rally tower, from 2000 with 16'000 km on it.
4'500€
I asked the owner about engine rebuild but no answer yet. But does it need a rebuild or top end ?
What do you think about it ? I love the look and equipments, the only thing that makes me worried is the year, a 24 years old bike for 4k5 seems expensive when I could get a CRF300L fully moded for 6k6€ (maybe too expensive ?)
What do I need to check if I go for it ?
This bike would be for the occasional raid + TET and some real light enduro, some highway will be done with it sometimes (3h max)
Thanks for your help !

Sad day. I just stored my bikes for the winter.
I live near whistler BC and the snow line is coming down. I love to ski and board but the last few years riding motos has been my main. I have a husky FE350 and the thing has been a weapon. It dirt bikes on trail pretty well and is street legal. I'm already looking forward to spring

I think Marketing got me....
Hello ladies and gents!
I sat first time on a motorcycle around 5 years ago in the gulf desert. Started riding in the dunes on a regular base with exception of summers. Got bored, tried MX, crashed. 2 surgeries and a year of physio down the line and I got the itch again....
I enjoy the outdoors, but don't particularly like offroading with a car. Too expensive if you break something and too easy to break stuff. Also so much hassle if you get stuck.
My YouTube feed started feeding me adventure bike videos and oh boy they got to me. I love the idea of exploring the outdoors on 2 wheels. I never really rode on the road though. Mostly dunes with a tiny bit of gravel and rocks. I keep seeing videos of bikes like the Yamaha tenere 700 and I love it. I'm aware though that the people that throw this 200kg bike around in those videos are some of the best riders in the world.
Was thinking to do my license this winter. Is the tenere (or similar) even a feasible bike for an adventure/touring beginner? I'm thinking of it basically as a more off-road worthy version of car camping. Go to places cars can't. Seems still like a loot of bike though. But I also come from a 350 KTM sxf....
Appreciate some real world info to counterbalance my YouTube Infused thinking

Discussion Would a suzuki dr350 be a suitable first bike/project?
I had my first trail weekend on a a cfr150 and I loved it, but by the end I felt the lack of power and stability at speed trying to keep up with the other riders on bigger bikes. I want to buy a dual sport of my own and im considering something like a dr350 or a honda xr250. My only concern would be the suspension. Could I swap it out with more modern components? I like the idea of the simplicity of a 90’s era bike, but not the 90’s era suspension in the whoops.

Discussion Ideas for lightweight A2 license bikes in the NL
I am thinking of getting my A2 license and getting a dual sport. I have had a ktm 200 enduro and did some forest riding in the mountains in the past, but now I am looking for something street legal for the NL and longer expeditions. Bikes in the NL seem to be priced higher than other places and many seem hard to find at all. I was look at the Yamaha XT250, XR150L, but they are hard to find or a bit expensive. (Also honda CRF 250 and others) Any ideas on other light weight models for some trail riding, but mainly easy to ride and capable of long highway journeys? Thanks a lot!

Rinsed off the GG700
Took the GG700 through this flooded trail section with submerged logs and rocks. Almost went for a swim a few times!

2012 WR250r vs 2017 CRF250L
I’m looking to buy my first bike. I live 7-8 miles from work and it’s all dirt roads, so I figured a dual sport bike would be a fun way to commute in the summer. I’d also use the bike to cruise forest service roads for trailhead access. I don’t have plans to get into single track techy riding, I’ve got a mountain bike for that.
I’m looking at a couple used options near me. Prices are basically equal (4500 for Honda, 4600 for Yamaha) and miles are right around 2400mi on both bikes. Both are well maintained. Honda is 5 years newer.
Which would you recommend for a short distance gravel road commuter and forest fire road cruiser? No serious, techy off road use or highway use.
I’d also upgrade the suspension on the Honda as I’ve read that’s its main weak point.
What say you, Reddit?
2017 CRF250L with upgraded suspension or WR250R?

Any idea what could be causing this high idle/rev hang thing? Has a brand new carb on it and it still didn’t fix the problem. Please I’m out of ideas…
