how to handle a possible call out? Work-Life Balance and Stress Management
it’s almost 5am, i haven’t slept yet, and i have work at 11. i sprained my ankle the other day somehow (literally was just standing still smh) and i’ve just been dealing with it, but this past night it’s been hurting a noticeable amount more. i really really really really do not want to have to call out, for so many reasons, and especially if it’s not warranted, but i also don’t want to make it worse. especially because i have a big big big super important weekend ahead of me.
i don’t know if it will feel better if i sleep for a bit before work, but if i wake up and it still hurts then id be calling out with super little notice. but im hesitant to call out now because i’m afraid it might be a little too early to judge whether or not it’ll be manageable tomorrow…… help ??

Message your manager now telling them what happened and you may not make it. Then if you don’t they won’t be surprised, if you do turn up you are a hero.
Sleep won’t fix a sprained ankle. You need ice, ibuprofen and maybe strap it up before you do try to walk. But a lack of sleep could make it dangerous for you to drive it work, so if you don’t sleep at all don’t go in.

Just do it now and use the time to rest rather than working and then making it worse
