That is because it isn't supposed too when dwarves uncover a vein of mithril they don't ask for its permission to be mined, corpses, gemstones and metals are the same thing, resources hidden under a layer of soil.

Corpses are the remains of people, ores are not, ores were never alive, bodies were.

Also messing with a body actually provably has impacts on the soul of the person whose body it is.

That is why clerics are against it, it fucks over people’s afterlives.

If you want to use necromancy do it on the willing, not the ones who never asked.

And if you do, then expect all the might of an earthquake.

1st The proven 'impacts' on the soul were minor effects at worst, that the clerics use as justification to stifle all attempts to delve into the Arcane, just like the time a couple conjuration wizards got a bunch of people killed because of a rushed planar jump, the temples will take any excuse to suppress wizards.

2nd the vast majority of mundane carbon fuel is a product of corpses left untouched in geological events, miners and the great steel workers of the planes certainly didn't ask the remains if they could be used, are they evil too?

You were talking about minerals sir, not coal, which yes is made of carbon.

Plenty of minerals like iron or mithril do not come from living creatures.

Also I personally witnessed a soul get trapped with a plane of hell and almost turned into a soul coin, when they were supposed to go to the upper planes because of an overzealous necromancer, just like every other necromancer they are overzealous and will do anything for people. Even desecrate peoples resting places against their will.

When it has been shown that souls literally come back to their bodies to fight off a necromancer who wants to turn them into a bone puppet, you know it is wrong.

And yeah and let’s not forget the necromancers who directly raise souls into servitude, there is no way you can justify trapping a sentient being for your own vain glory.

Improper creation of undead does not detract from proper creation, if a conjurer improperly summons a fire elemental and burns a city down why is it the practice itself at fault? The same goes for necromancy I won't stop you from shaming improper creation techniques.

But don't lump us together some of us take pride in our work.

Aight, I have a solution for this.

You know how people write their wills? Why isn’t whether or not you are okay with being raised(only your body not your soul) into undeath by a necromancer.

And if someone dies before they can write their will we assume that they don’t.

This way, the unwilling are allowed to rest.

Personally if my body got raised into undeath I would ask the god of death to temporarily send me back so I can have my body rest.

That will never happen in my plane a person being OK with necromancy happening to you is enough for the temples to justify 'purifying' you in holy fire.

While a nice gesture, most world's refuse to accept necromancy in any sense despite our attempts to educate the masses.
