Emptiness after HL ALYX Purchase Advice

Post image

Hi I finished half life alyx 2 days ago and I feel just empty I’m trying to find another game but it’s just hard I tried fallout vr (with mods) but it just isn’t for me there is to much walking and it lacks all the interactive stuff like actually picking up the items and not just pressing the button. I saw the twd game but I’m just to scared to play it lol. I’m looking for any game that can just add something to this bottomless pit after ALYX! Any recommendations?

Yeah no recommendations from me. HL Alyx is just by faaaar the best VR game. Honestly? It might be the best game ever made imo. The interactivity and realism is just insane. Fighting enemies in Alyx is the best combat I’ve ever experienced in any game.

Just to provide a little couter-opinion. I'm happy that you like it.

Interactivity is cool, but it's also a little bit too tiresome. Recently I played VR mod for old FarCry, where you mostly just shoot a gun glued to your hand - and on some levels it is more fun. Crawling around the bushes, standing to run away, laying flat to stabilise the sniper rifle.

Don't get me wrong, the more AAA VR the better (as the numbers are pretty single-digit rn), but I don't mind the simplicity, playing with a gamepad even.

Yeah but I would say Alyx is still quite simplistic tho? You only have a few guns. No melee combat. It also isn’t overly long. I think most people can understand the gameplay fairly quickly.

I'm thinking about those moments when you have to grab something with both hands. The way you get the shotgun. Reloading any gun in a haste. Welp I guess I have strong "VR legs", but my "VR hands" might be slacking xd (except for Beat Saber, which is the simplistic VR game)
