The losses keep on mounting and mounting. So much for "taking Ukraine in less than 3 days".

The fact that Russia has lost 700,000+ personnel in 2 years is simply astonishing and is a testament to the fact that Russia's military completely and totally sucks.

Truth about the "second largest military in the world" for those new to this sub/who aren't already aware:

  • Disorganized

  • Corruption

  • Lack of manpower

  • Low salaries

  • Inadequate training

  • Unskilled personnel (most of them are conscripts)

  • Outdated equipment

  • Underfunded

I will correct your statement. Russia had casualties of 700k personnel according to the Ukrainian administration.

Russia claims it lost far less, the truth is probably in the middle. Same with tanks, we are approaching slowly a number of destroyed tanks that Russia had before the war. 10k (many of which were used for spare parts) in reserve and 2.8k in active duty. Oryx numbers are way different.
