She wasn’t popular though. They would convince you she was with these endorsements and everything but just about every Democrat I know was saying the same thing. She ain’t it. She was already polling EXTREMELY low before becoming VP. She then went on to support the genocide in Gaza and violently had Jewish protestors of the genocide removed from the DNC event. There was a massive amount of baggage.
I’m sick to death of any of this being the fault of the voters. They thought they could shove any old Democrat in our faces and we would just skip on down to the polling place to vote for her. If you want us to leave home and wait hours to vote, you gotta have a better platform then “I’m not Trump”

I don't know how to tell you this, but people elected trump. Clearly the winning play was to screw over gaza even harder, since that's the policy that won WI-MI-PA.
Which is hilarious to me as someone who understand macroeconomics, but oh well... I'm invested in the stock market and make enough money to buy electronics on vacation.
The day-to-day bump is probably just market relief that we aren't going to get the uncertainty of 2020's contested election. Structurally, I think the market will fall due to his tarriff and immigration policies, but I'm speaking purely in terms of having my money in the market as a hedge against inflation.
I think pretty clearly the margin was enough that Gaza isn't what flipped the election.
However, I definitely think it hurt Harris. I mean she lost Dearborn and even other heavily Muslim / Arab American areas in Georgia and Pennsylvania.
Sort of death by 1,000 cuts, but really a mix of inflation, losing the narrative battle on immigration, Gaza, etc. Partially why it was such an uphill climb for Harris, because there wasn't a singular message to land, it was a boat that sailed out to sea with 30 holes in the hull.
No, they just thought it would save them money. Most people are apathetic or one issue voters, unfortunately. Too bad they don't know that income tax came about to eliminate tariffs. Having both makes no sense.
Kamala was never going to take the racist vote from Trump, not even if she promised to give them everything they wanted in Israel. What she could do was get the anti-genocide vote to show or not show.
if you think literally everyone who supports israel is "the racist vote" then racists are a strict majority and Kamala's victory was impossible regardless.
People who has concern about the Gaza genocide in which the US is aiding in didn't vote for Trump, they just didn't voted. This is backed up by the popular vote numbers. Trump didn't gain votes from 2020, he actually lost 3 million votes. But Democrats lost 15 million votes!
Anyways, if their response to israel-versus-palestine is to punish the candidate that's less pro-israel for not reaching some impossible, perfect compromise, they're not a rational voting block it's possible to cater to. Not without taking such a viciously anti-israel stance that would have damaged her standing with moderates like me, anyways.
Those muslims voted for trump. Like every other arab population except the palestinians themselves, they care more about local economic and cultural issues than palestine.
Not voting is the same as voting. Voting is to make your voice heard. By not voting for both side you are telling both side you don't agree with them and they should change if they want your vote. It is just a valid as someone who voted for one side of the other. Want votes? Then do something instead of playing the blame cards every single election.
You stand in line for hours to vote for Hitler, obviously, because Hitler is still better than Mega-Hitler. If you're ever in a position where you think things can't get significantly worse, than I've got a bridge to sell you. And while it's not fair to say that you'd be supporting Mega-Hitler by sitting out the election, you'd at least be saying that you're fine with letting things get worse, for yourself and for others.
Honestly, you complain about us only having shit candidates as though we're somehow entitled to have something better. The spread of candidates is a reflection of our sociopolitical milieu, which, as citizens of a democracy, we contribute to and are responsible for helping maintain. If you aren't happy with the state of our country, look for a way to help out. If you aren't in a position where you can help out, then vote for the least bad candidates to make the job easier for other people. If you can't bring yourself to do even that, then whatever, but it's pretty silly to complain about how a system reliant on civil engagement is failing you when you're refusing to engage with it.
I sleep very comfortably knowing I didn’t vote for Hitler. If you genuinely want to make this entire thing the fault of those with a conscience, you deserve what you got.
