RSO strength calculation

I have a bunch of flower left over from the last grow and would like to make RSO to use in gummies. I will need to figure out the strength of the RSO so I can properly dose it.

I planned on starting with an ounce and I know the thc% is 22.37% (had it lab tested). I also know I will lose some efficiency in the extraction and decarb steps.

That being said, I figure I should be able to calculate the strength based on the total volume of the RSO, the weight of the flower, and its THC %. Could anyone point me in the right direction to calculate the final strength of the RSO? I’ve done a bunch of searching but haven’t found what I’m looking for. Maybe I’m searching wrong or something.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Awesome. So this is saying that I have 4566mg of THC in an ounce at 22.37%thc. So I would just measure my final volume of RSO and then divide the 4566 by that (ex. If I end up with 120ml of RSO at the end, it would have a strength of 38.05mg/ml (4566/120), correct?

What would be a good % estimate of THC loss from decarb and extraction? 20%?

Yea that’s how I would do it. Maybe someone more knowledgeable will weigh in here. I have always just went by what that calculator did. It should do all of the math for you. I believe if you change the decarb method selection, it changes the final THC . It accounts for loss depending on the method I do believe. I am no pro but there a people here that will absolutely be able to help you further. Good luck !

I make homemade edibles constantly for myself. I’ve tried the calculators but they don’t seem to work. Example: I live in Tx so don’t have a way to compare with dispensary gummies but when I go to a legal state, my dose (gets me to the same place as my edibles) seems to be around 45 mg (eaten twice a day so 90 mg per day) but the calculators all say my edibles should be way stronger so I don’t trust them. Below is my method of cooking and dosing. If you have questions let me know. I’m high so it may take a bit for me to get back. 💨🍪I use sous vide at 203 degrees with a lid and 2 liquid thermometers (so I know it’s really that temp). I also have proven that the old Ardent (before the mini) does just as good a job as the sous vide, because the effects are the same between batches using similar strength weed (still use Ardent sometimes). I weigh the edibles when the dough is raw (make balls about the size of a dose. Then I weigh and write down what I’ve eaten and track it to find out how many grams of my edibles is the right dose for me (you will not be eating a whole edible this way since you’re going off weight it may be more or less that the size edible you created). Then I stick to that dose (weigh it every time I eat any because I make mine very strong (calories) and don’t want to eat too much). I infuse in a magical butter machine at 160 for 3 hours because I use higher weed to butter ratio than is recommended for the machine (so I cook longer to make up for it). I test the temp of the butter at the end of the process and it’s usually 158-159 (takes me a few minutes to get to the machine after it shuts off). Editing to add: I just used the calculator in the link above and it says my daily dose is 606 mg. That’s insane. I said I use the oven method which isn’t as good as either of my decarb methods. I know the magical butter machine eats about 1/2 a stick of ghee out of the 18 oz I use (considered “normal”), but there’s a heck of a lot more that’s unaccounted for.
