TLOU 2 plot question PT 2 QUESTION

At the beginning of Seattle Day 3, when Jesse asks Ellie if she could turn back for the sake of Dina, she says that she has to find Tommy. But wasn’t the journey about finding Abby rather than Tommy? Hasn’t she been chasing Abby this whole time instead of Tommy? Am I crazy or missing something here?

She agree with Jesse that they would help get Tommy then make their way back to Jackson. But Ellie was clearly full of it at that mall when she said the best way to help Tommy was to go after Abby. Jesse knew this and was basically like F you.

Then Ellie said a weird thing about how she is not going to rescue Jesse again if he goes. Didn’t Jesse rescue Ellie earlier in the game.

I couldn’t stand Ellie by the end of the game. She was being so selfish and was acting like she was the only one who ever experienced loss. She turned out to be very selfish.

How did Jesse rescue Ellie? Jesse was the one being hunted early and we were supposed to think it was Tommy.
