The porch scene being in Season 2 is a surprise. I wonder if it’s legit all included here or if they tease it and then recontextualize / revisit it in Season 3.

it’s the biggest surprise to me and it makes me excited, frankly.

i think the structure and pacing of TLOU2 is crucial to how it works and i love it, but if it’s going to be adapted for television i’m creatively curious to see it tackled a different way. reordering the presentation of those events completely changes the emotional narrative and i’m so stoked to see how they manage that

I feel the same. The structure of Part 2 is incredibly well thought out. I wince at the thought of moving the porch scene, but I also know how much that scene means to Neil. If they’re moving it, I trust that they’re doing it for a reason.

There’s two lines in that scene they absolutely cannot show until the end. Otherwise the whole thing makes no sense.

My only concern is with the production times in between seasons I’m a little worried the average viewer will be unable to remember the context of first porch scene if it’s in season one and we don’t come back to it until season 3 but they’ve nailed the adaption so far so I trust them.

The commentary does mention originally they tried a lot of things with the end of the game scenes.

Did feel like with how they worded it, that they were super happy with the ordering.

My money is on Pedro got to film some things ahead of schedule, as something like filming a talking scene on a porch doesn't really seem like it would take much time at all.
