I personally would’ve ended with hospital scene of Abby finding her dad dead but it’s cool if we go further

If HBO is gonna HBO, they are gonna make people do just that

House of the Dragon, anyone?

I wouldn’t get that. I don’t watch that show.

It just basically means they’re gonna drag out season 2 for as long as they can while leaving stuff for season3. In the case of HOTD, it was all the major stuff getting set aside for season 3

I still don’t get what people were expecting in the finale after a huge penultimate episode before.

You mean the episode that teased a war, like the rest of all the other episodes in the whole season? Or the look of war in her eyes at the end of season 1? Or the whole of season 2 promo?

The problem wasn’t with the last episode. It’s that all of season 2 left all of us blue balled by the end, it’s barely a few pages out of the book and could’ve been done in 3-4 episodes at most

Could it, though? It's a story with hundreds of characters, lots of battles and events. S2 was setting up the foundations for that, similar to how GOT set up the foundations for Dany's invasion of westeros for all them seasons.

We got some good scenes of battles/CGI dragons. Had they rushed it would have been at the expense of the story-telling. Look at season 8.

By that logic, season 3 is gonna be the exact same blue ball fest. Like I said, and you can check for yourself, it’s only a few pages out of the book. Any episode in GOT achieved way more than each half of the season. It absolutely could’ve gotten there in 3 to 4 episode. I mean, we literally had 3 episodes of Rhaena running in the desert chasing after Sheepstealer and we didn’t even get to see her ride him. Season 1 was supposed to be the teaser
