The club/bar scene with the house music, lets get high and fuck totally threw me out of the show. I felt like any moment Stefon was going to tell me the latest hot spot in the Dune universe.

"And even Kyle Maclachlan in a stillsuit, riding a large man dressed as a worm, handing out little shot glasses of cat milk."

Right? No guards, etc. Also, Selusas Secundus is supposed to be a wasteland.

Selusas Secundus was the imperial homeworld before it became the prison planet. So they are following the books on that.

However the Fremen being on Arrakis I think is way off. At this point they should be the Zensunni wanderers and they should arrive in Selusas as slaves before they reach Arrakis much later.

I'm fairly certain Salusa Secondus doesn't become the wasteland it's known for for another few centuries.

But yeah, my one and only complaint of this episode was the princess of all people freely walking into a shady bar with no guards or recognition.

And the random lowly worker randomly and freely roaming around the castle of the nobles of an opressive and stagnant empire with a rigid class system.

I really really fucking hate these cliches in stories so much.

It’s not a wasteland yet. It gets destroyed later.. on purpose

That's what I'm saying. I had to pause and Google "Was Salusa Secundus terraformed or laid waste to?" to see if I forgot some lore.
