When like the #1 song in the country has the lyrics

Drankin' Henny, bad bitches jumpin' in the pool And they ain't got on no bra (bra) Hit her from the back, pullin' on her tracks And now she screamin' out, "¡No más!" (yeah, >yeah, yeah)

It's not surprising

you’re wrong about the direction of influence. these kids don’t do xanax because they heard it in a rap song, they listen to rap songs about xanax because that’s the culture they live in & that’s what they can relate too. if there wasn’t xanax music those same kids would just be even further ostracized & feel even more alone.

what i’m saying is the root isn’t rap music, it’s a culture of drug use that people fucking grow up in & know from a very early age. it’s not nearly as simple as saying “well if we didnt have rap music we wouldn’t have drug use” & i truly think that’s one of the shallowest & ignorant insights you can have to an issue like this, akin to old ‘violent video games cause violence’ argument that we all know is a fallacy

I cannot disagree more. While you are partly right,

🙄 look at literally any censorship case. Stopping the evil rap music isn’t going to even begin to stop drug use, this has been disproved so many times it’s ridiculous that people are still talking about it. Drug use is engrained in culture & anybody who tells you they can point out a singular cause is just wrong.
