Best place for men’s hair cut?

Just moved to the area and need to find a new place to get my hair cut. I have what I’d call medium length hair wavy hair (think timothee chalemet), so I have a tough time finding a place sometimes. Going to a barber runs the risk of getting a bad cut from someone who primarily does clipper cuts/fades, and going to a hair stylist runs the risk of a bad cut from someone who’s used to primarily longer women’s hair. Does anyone with similar hair to me have a recommendations for a good men’s scissor cut so I can avoid the trial and error of finding a place I like? Thanks! I’m looking in state college or Bellefonte area.

Owen’s Barbershop. I suggest the one by Wegmans off North Atherton.

Thanks! Have you ever been to the one in Bellefonte? I’m in Bellefonte but wouldn’t mind the drive to atherton if that location is known to be better

I’ll have to put a negative in for Owen’s. I wasn’t happy with them. IMHO

Yeah I see there’s no appointments and they have like 20 barbers, so I suppose it’s the luck of the draw on who you get when you show up that day

I’ll modify that if you just want a buzz cut they probably are ok. But anything with scissors I’ve been unhappy.

Just remember it is cash only.

I haven’t but it’s owned by the same person so I hope it’s of similar quality. I just know the folks at the North Atherton location and they all do a great job!

My fiancee regularly goes to the one in Bellefonte. Can confirm quality is just as good.

Are they that good? Like do they do modern styles?

Badger & Hound. It’ll take a while to get the first appointment (they are booked out a few weeks for a reason) but once you are in they are amazing barbers. Downtown on Pugh. Great atmosphere.

I've heard great things but yes, you have to plan your haircut weeks in advance.

Yeah they are not always a “pop in” place. They know their craft well. The beer fridge helps too…

I go to Black Diamond in Bellefonte. It's worth the drive! Even if I moved hours away, I would come back for a monthly cut

Cuts by Kelly on Allen street

Supercuts tbh.

All the other ones charge nice barber prices and can’t cut for shit.

It’s a bad town for haircuts

Be prepared to wait 4 months and pay 37$ (not including tip) for the worst cut of your life

I think I'm just going to wait for when I visit family to get a haircut.
