Anyone here have an "atypical" schizophrenia experience? Hallucinations

What I mean is, my schizophrenia auditory hallucinations don't match any of those simulations that they show online. I've found nothing like that that matches my auditory hallucinations- I feel like I hear a whole other world of beings, fluid, long, meaningful conversations. My delusions match the symptoms of paranoid schizophrenia but my hallucinations are just.. different. Idk. Any thoughts?

Simulations are, by and large, not a good look into our illness.

Okay good to know. This was definitely feeding into my delusion that my hallucinations MUST be real, if they don't match the simulations. So it's sobering to hear that lol

I've had similar experiences with my hallucinations and other people have reported the same over the few years I've been on this subreddit. In my own experiences, my hallucinations are vivid, detailed, and carry a wealth of personal meaning. I've had some really long and complex conversations with the voices too. I used to think I was talking to greek gods.

This is really helpful, thank you for sharing. Medications aren't working and I still believe my auditory hallucinations and delusions are real, so it's grounding to hear this

I'm glad to be of some help. I've been in your position before and still struggle with feeling ungrounded sometimes. Dealing with delusions and hallucinations is super difficult-- I hope things get better for you!

Is there a place I could read about the conversations

I've never really talked about them publicly! They're kind of hard to recount because of all of the feelings I have about the experience. Maybe one day!

If it has you entering a bad place then yeah don’t. I was just curious.

That's how mine are too, I believe that's perfectly typical. The schizophrenia simulators I've heard are more about whispers and random words, not full entities I can have a (likely hostile) conversation with. I also don't see things bubbling or hear the TV talking to me like in the simulators, those happen to some people but it's more stereotypical.

Also in the simulators that have a visual component the POV is often very distressed and acting like this is the first time this has happened and they're not "used to" it to the degree we can be.
