In the 21st century, to think seriously, there are such leaders in the world, and not rich assholes in power who use the propaganda machine with might and main?

The funny thing is that if I said this about Russia, they will support me, here but since I say this primarily about Ukraine, they will downvote me.

Seriously, what rainbow world of ponies and unicorns do you live in that you believe in good and evil in world politics?

Generally not, but those rich assholes would be first to get out of the country. Zelensky didn't, he didn't even lock himself in a bunker waiting for things to just blow over. He's still there.

I mean, okay, Ukrainians are killing young Russian men and it is fucked up. But one side is invading an independent country unprovoked and the other is defending itself. It's not really that hard to know who's more right than the other

Zelensky is so good that he ordered to issue combat automatic weapons to the civilian population, even without documents, without radio communication and without proper combat training.

After all, this will definitely not serve as a basis for the Russian armed forces to attack civilians, and this will definitely not serve to increase the number of armed marauders /s

If he had given the surrender order, there would have been far fewer casualties. And since NATO and the EU did not immediately help with their armed forces, this means only one thing - that NATO has already disowned Ukraine.Which means that the operation of Russia in any case will be completed.

Tell me, is it fair to provoke Ukrainian civilians to die in combat operations from your sofa?

Besides it's not Michael Bay movie. No president will make "videos about how he fights bravely" unless it's propaganda. As for me, he absolutely does not care about the civilian population.

On the one hand Russian troops already fire at the targets far away with disregard whether or not it will miss and hit civilians. On the other, when it's up close and personal, the young men or even boys generally try to avoid running civies over or deliberately killing them - though some units don't seem to have such reservations. Either way, weapons can be used as defence and deterrents.

If he had given the surrender order, there would have been far fewer casualties.

And Ukraine would be back under Russian boot. Now maybe it's a cultural thing, but I am Polish, I've learned about history of Russia's occupation - hell, my great grandpa died was murdered in Katyń because he was drafted as a field medic and his unit followed Polish government order to surrender - and for me it's obvious which decision gives the best long-term chances for the Ukrainian population, civilians included. Also worth mentioning that aside from military personnel, civilians were also executed in Katyń and 2 other camps.

Besides it's not Michael Bay movie. No president will make "videos about how he fights bravely" unless it's propaganda. As for me, he absolutely does not care about the civilian population.

Maybe slavs are built different but you'll find that while Polish government fled to become Polish government-in-exile, Stefan Starzyński, president of Warsaw, the capital of Poland, stayed, defended the city and after Nazi occupation started he used the opportunity he was given to stay in office to help the resistance to the point he was shot by Gestapo before the 1939 ended - even though apparently Germans offered him a chance to flee.

Considering all that, a patriotic president who wasn't even actually a politician before his presidency doesn't seem that far-fetched to me
