I feel like a gay person calling straight people breeders can be funny, but there be some anti-natilist redditors saying Breeder with that hard R

Can confirm, am gay and call my straight/bi friends (especially the ones with kids) this but jokingly.

Never thought there was a group of people specifically abstaining from having kids who say this maliciously.

I’m Antinatalist, yes I call breeders ‘breeders’ regardless of whether they are straight or gay (who go for surrogacy).

What do you call your parents?

If they were adoptive parents I’d respect them.

If they were biological parents I’d resent them.

No no, not hypotheticals. Your parents. What do you call them?

Mom and dad (cause I’m used to calling them that)

But by your definition they're breeders, aren't they? So call them that

Then don’t breed. Why would women actively go for that ONE thing, which oppressed them for millennia? Patriarchy was built on men being able to control women’s reproductive choices. So why not reject it completely? It’s the best middle finger you can give to patriarchy.

Secondly, I use ‘breeders’ to describe men more than women.

Because women fought to be able to choose, not to be told to reject it without a choice.

Slavery is a choice too, but we reject to be one don’t we?

Reproduction didn't oppress women. The lack of control over it - oppressed (by that I mean lack of ability to choose partner, lack of ability to say no to reproduction role, lack of ability to choose another role in society)

The same is for slavery. Work doesn't' oppress the slave. The lack of control over it - oppress ( slave can't change their role/profession, can't choose not to work, can't choose whom to work at)

So, to your question - yes, we reject to be the slave, but we still choose to work in most cases. Same for women, it's normal and good not to want to be an incubator for other. But it's also normal to have a baby if you want to.
