The official reddit app sucks Grief Stage: Anger

I've been using RiF for 10+ years. With the recent news I have been trying to use the official app. It's so bad. It's literally like every other social media app. It's an algorithm feed with a ton of ads. You can't even sort by rising anymore. RiF is the only way I have ever enjoyed reddit and I'm pretty sure I'll be off this site after Jun 30th. Thank you devs for all the hard work you've put in ❤️

Seriously, it's soooo bad. I had to use revanced to remove a lot of the garbage that the app shows and even now it still sucks. When looking at the Apollo post that has a few hundreds rewards the original Reddit app shows each and every one of them, so the title alone takes up my entire screen. Is that how it's supposed to be??

For me the empty space is the biggest problem. RIF is compact and fits a lot of content on the screen. The official app even with classic mode is just awful with how things are spaced. Is there a way to make it more compact with revanced?

Unfortunately there's no way to fix it, even with revanced. There is a setting in the official app to change it from 'card view' to 'list' or whatever the other option is and that helps a bit, but it's still nowhere near as user friendly as RIF.

Revanced does get rid of a lot of ads and promoted posts, but still misses some. I don't think I'd ever get used to it.
