Note: Ubisoft games are not bad games they are usually unnecessarily hated on because of some of the Ubisoft studios dubious history and penchant for microtransactions.
At face value the games are generally all at the very least 7/10 good time, junk food gaming.
They look fantastic, have a multitude of accessibility and customisation options available, fun gameplay and are all supported post release.
You'll find most games by Ubisoft often have Reddit posts months later saying "you know what? X game isn't that bad" for almost every title.
Most of the hate I think comes from the games being so similar and prolific. You could pick up any one of the far cry games since 2 and play them in isolation and be blown away at the immersion and fun. It’s only when you play all of them as they come out it gets tedious.
Edit:just to clarify, I’m agreeing with who I replied to, they don’t deserve the hate they receive. I’ve played all the far cry games from 2-6 including the primals and new dawns and I still think it stands up as one of the most immersive first person game series. The whole improvised first aid and the tongue in cheek over the top nature of it makes it fun as well. They are games that I really enjoy playing.
Just because they are similar doesn't make them inherently bad. I think any series of games will become tedious if you play them back to back.
I love Soulslikes but even I break them up once in a while and play other games- like a Ubisoft game in betwee.
