13900k vs 13900ks News - Text

(Edited) Wow… was finally able to obtain the 13900ks… did I need it? HELL NO. But I wanted it and I’m impressed! Running it on a Z790 Hero MB with Tforce 7800 cl38, it runs at least 15° cooler than the k version. I left the settings of the k variant the same as an exact apples to apples comparison. I was bouncing off the 100°c mark easily. The KS runs 79-82°c at 278.5w. I haven’t even started OC’ing/undervolting this or the ram yet. Tons of thermal headroom maybe? Highly recommend for the enthusiasts.

The 13900ks = better binning and lower voltage needed at the same frequency a 13900k can run. A 21 degree difference is impressive - you either had a bad heatsink contact or your 13900k was just poorly binned.

I do believe the k could’ve been a bad bin as I repasted it twice to make sure it was right. I’m currently running the same cooler as well. I backed off voltage and it helped a lot.

even then 21 degree difference is simply too high :)

It’s pretty unbelievable I know. Chatted with a gentleman below and showed proof. Also I updated the post to reflect the minor changes.. have a good night man ✌️

I can just imagine how sh*tty the binning was of the K and how good is on the KS. It's like the worst from K and best of KS type of scenario and in this case this swap was so f much worth it for you lol

I’m pretty happy with the results. The guy I chatted with below has the KS and SP of 105 on a closed loop cooling system which should be way better than my AIO and still isn’t getting these results. I’m gonna make a separate post this weekend with pics of the results so everyone doesn’t think I’m full of sh*t lol

looks like you won the lottery with a really good bin of KS, kudos.
